  What happens if you make a gadget with two folders, en-US and es-ES, and it is installed on a machine with other configuration, ja-JP for example. Wich configuration it takes en-US, es-ES or doesn't work . In Vista, every language has a 'fallback chain' of other languages that it will try if resources are unavailable in the installed/configured language. Sidebar gadgets also obey this fallback chain. I don't have the fallback chain handy for ja-JP, but I doubt english or spanish is on it. (Usually its stuff like 'american english' might be in the fallback chain for 'canadian english' - where a person might reasonably still understand the fallback language.)   Has anyone tried using ASP.NET 2.0 and AJAX to develop Gadgets Scripts and HTML seems to be less efficient in coding, especially when you need to connect to web services at the back end. Atlas has some (very old) built-in support for generating gadgets. However, keep in mind that gadgets are still going to be javascript and HTML. You could certainly programmatically emit that from an ASP/ASPX page, but the bulk of the work will ultimately need to be done in javascript and HTML rather than C# or VB.NET. Also I don't believe you can get hosted on Windows Live Gallery if your gadget is an ASPX page (Chris Butler could speak to this). • Mitesh Shah923 Mixing rate sink and rateless sink on a tee node

  I modified the WavSinkSample and inserted a tee node so I could also add an Audio Renderer output node. When I do this, the topology starts playing just fine. But it ends as soon as the WavSink finishes writing the wave file. Is this the intended behavior I would have expected the topology to stop when all output nodes are done processing samples. I tried a bunch of workarounds: - Changing the order in which I connect the nodes. - Set MF_TOPONODE_RATELESS to 0 on the WavSink output node. - Set MF_TOPONODE_PRIMARYOUTPUT to 0 (index of the audio renderer) on the tee node. - Set MF_TOPONODE_DISCARDABLE on the tee node for all secondary node.   I have some good solid .js's now that are working fine in the HD-XA1...I am thinking that these .js's wich include alot of advanced features can be a kind of base that I can "build" any markup on top of. So for every project I can just write some easy cosmetic\animation markup and only make slight changes to the .js backbone (testing on the HD-XA1 every time I alter the .js's). So essentially every disc I author would have many advanced features but they would never be called for by the markup ...I think I could do a disc a week like this. We will see! ...Show All

• MyoZaw Tee node and custom media source

  I used the WavSource MediaSource example and I used it in topology using a tee node. When I do that, an errors occurs after starting the session (0x8000FFFF). If I dont use a tee node everything works fine. I tried setting the MF_TOPONODE_PRIMARYOUTPUT and MF_TOPONODE_DISCARDABLE but that did not change anything.   I have a Dell Inspiron E1705. I just downloaded Vista Beta and love it. Except for hot having any sound. My speaker volume is up and not muted. All updates are complete. • Rob Wheeler Help!!! Having problems burning a DVD!!!!

  this is my first experience with vista. i have been trying to burn a dvd with dvd maker and nero. when i attempt to burn with dvd maker it gives me an error and locks up. when i try and burn with nero it completes and says files transcoded and burned sucessfully, however when i put the disc in a dvd player or try and play it with wmp i get locked up after around chapter 3. can anyone help is anyone else experiencing the same thing You can use magiciso to burn a dvd. • Venu Konda ActiveX problem

  We have created an ActiveX program in Visual Basic (6) for one of our gadgets, but while the activex control is running, it's not possible to interact with the gadget. Unfortunately, the ActiveX control runs for around 5 seconds, so I can't see this being such a good idea as an end-user gadget *grin* Is there a way to make the ActiveX control run asynchronously Does anyone know how to do it in VB6 Thanks in advance for the help.
