  • stak32 Question: How do I hide the Title Bar?

Howdy... I'm writing a program in Excel and I was wondering how to hide the Title Bar. The one with "Microsoft Excel" and the min., restore, and close button. If that's not possible, is it possible to deactivate the close button Set the forms borderstyle property to none. Hi, Have a look at Stephen Bullen's FunForm workbook. http://www.oaltd.co.uk/Excel/Default.htm I know his code is designed to apply the formatting to a userform. But by changing the code in the class to use the application window handle rather than the userform the effects still work. But be very careful when playing around with application setting. Make sure your code returns the enviroment to the same state you found i ...Show All

  • DMKanz Pivottable Drilldown Lists in wrong order (Excel, Pivottable)

I am using a Pivottable with external data in my Excel Sheet. On the sheet I included a Button to refresh the pivottable via pv.RefreshTable As there might be some new data, also the values of the drilldown lists may change. So when I initally created the pivot, I had these employees: Mister A, Mister B, Mister D, Mister F. By clicking on "Refresh" some new data comes in, including Data from Mister C and Mister E. • alexey.polovinkin Error Referencing DLL in VBA

Hi ! I have prepared an MSI Installer for my XLA to be deployed on the server, the MSI contains all the DLL referenced by the XLA. The MSI runs fine but when I try to open Excel on that server it gives me a reference error, I have to *explicitely* go in VBA Editor and set the reference for the erroring DLL, after that the XLA works fine. The strange thing is that in the MSI I have set the path to D:\ Prog Files\... but strangely the MISSING reference in the Refernce dialog box shows C:\Prog File \.... Can this be because the server registry has not been cleaned up or perhaps there are more than one DLL registered Do we need to Uninstall (from Add/ Remove Progs) the MSI from the server (if it was previously isntalled on it) before act ...Show All

  • Rob Scanlon DLookup help?

Hi there - im building a contact management system and require some help. I have previously had help with VBA in terms of defining what users can and cant do within the system when logging in via a username and password which was incredibly useful. Im now at further along the route and now want to incorporate an activity system that will record all hours that employees will have worked against clients. However we have a lot of clients! The users login name('login_name' which is held in 'tblusers') is also entered into a 'leadofficer' field in 'tblcompany' so that we know which user is responsible for managing that client - this is done through a combo box on the company entry form so it looks up the values from the table 'tblusers'. • Molon Labe Sum of hours using select statement & VBA

Hi - ok here is my question: I have an activity recording form that records hours logged against a company. I have added a field called 'sumactivityhours' to the table and the form.  what i would like to do is when a user selects a company from the drop down list (thanks derek and duck thing for your fantastic help with that problem) it automatically populates the 'sumactivityhours' field with the total number of hours worked thus far with that company  so that the user can see the total hours and then writes that information into the 'sumactivityhours' field in the table. as i gradually begin to learn a little more about VBA im guessing that i should create an on exit event on the companyname combo box that re ...Show All

  • SPECIALK_BC Attaching Contents of a Folder

Hi all, Using a macro running on excel, I am trying to attach the contents of a folder in Outlook. The files contained in the folder change, so it is not as simple as writing the code to attach a specific file. I need it to attach all the files regardless of the file name. Is this possible Thanks in advance Hi Catherine, Not 100% why you should get that message. I assume you have Outlook and not another email client. You could try a modification to this line. • David-Paris How to re-connect an Excel.Application variable to a disconnected Excel instance?

Hi, Automating Excel is wonderfull. I program it quite offen and I quite enjoy it. I have a question: When a program with new a Excel.Application is broken and stopped, the created Excel instance will be deattached to any VBA variable. In this case, I need to be "End Process" manually in the window task manager. I do this more than 50 times in one day of programming. Without doing this, I once had found more than 20 Excel instances in the task manager. It is terrible. I tried following, the program broken at J=27 in my 1Gbyte RAM notebook. Dim J As Byte, mExcel(1 To 50) As Excel.Application For J = 1 To 50 Debug.Print J; Set mExcel(J) = New Excel.Application Next Stop My question is how can I scan all curre ...Show All

  • Zooz VBA function having it's name's case changed in excel

I am just starting with VBA / excel though I am a moderately competent programmer. I created a function B4FirstBlank() (written exactly like that) that looks at a Range reference and finds the value of the cell before the first blank cell. It works fine but whenever I type it into excel it is rewritten as b4fIRSTbLANK() which doesn't do much for me in terms of readability. I get other strange rewriting of functions too, any guidance on how to sort this out much appreciated. Andrew Thanks for the reply. I've had a good look and it is definitely called B4FirstBlank(). For some reason it is now appearing as b4firstblank(). I have also looked for multiple definitions and while I do have the same function amo ...Show All
