  Hi I have a need to work on pocket pc application. Scenario: In general user will take database backup from database server to local system. User perform some changes to his local database based on his requirement. Again user connects to database server and click on update, local database should update to server database by informing each record status to the user. ex: record 1 updated / call closed do you want to update Here local database is going to be Pocket pc database and server database is on SQLDatabase. • Kartit Deleting write protected files

  I'm developing a VB application to run on IPAQ devices. I have two different models of IPAQs and I want to delete all the shortcuts in \Windows\Start Menu so only my program and one or two others are visible. I can do it via active sync on one of the IPAQ's but they are write-protected on the other. I would like to put code in my program to delete all the unwanted shortcuts every time my program runs because I'm sure the shortcuts will reappear if the user does a cold boot. Does anyone know how to delete a file that's write protected I'm not sure if you want to delete shortcuts or the files itself.   I'm using Pocket PC 2003 device emulator v8.0.50727.42 and am trying to use the COM ports by mapping them to COM1 of my PC I can successfully create a handle for serial port 0 (COM1) or serial port 2 (COM3), but it fails for serial port 1 (COM2 ). In addition if I try and write to serial port 0 I get the first byte out of my PC COM port but then my application on the emulator appears to block on the call to WriteFile. If I click on the emulator frame a few more bytes get sent and then it blocks again. If I write to serial port 2 the application appears to successfully send the data i.e. no block this time, but nothing comes out of my PC COM port. I've run the application on a HP Pocket PC using it's COM1 port and the application works fine ...Show All

• Evgeny Popov RAPI fails on Smartphone but works on Pocket PC

  In spite of the RAPI Security configuration being set to "allowed" I am unable to execute a function with CeRapiInvoke on a Smartphone device. It works properly on the Pocket PC device. CeRapiInvoke returns S_OK on the Pocket PC device, but returns 0x80090006 Invalid Signature on the Smartphone device. GetLastError returns 2148073478. CeRapiInit returns S_OK on both devices. I have the rapitest.dll file (my RAPI dll) in the Windows folder on both devices. I have tried this on both a real Smartphone device and on the Motorola Q emulator. • Vamsee Krishna IE7 Crashing because of Windows Live Toolbar

  Hi All, Not sure if anyone else has seen this. I've got IE7 running on a brand new machine (version 7.0.5730.11) and I've installed Windows Live Toolbar as I've had it installed on previous machines. However, whenever the Windows Live Toolbar is active and visible, if I click to open a new tab in IE7, it crashes. Any ideas anyone It's pretty annoying, and the Yahoo Toolbar that's also installed causes no problems. Cheers for any assistance I'm having issues with the toolbar as well.   I am porting a project developed on EVC4 to VS2005 for a PocketPC 2003 device. The problem I am running into has to do with the "DEBUG_NEW" define. In the preprocessor defines I see "DEBUG" defined, but I do not see "_DEBUG".   I have developed an app on PocketPC 2003 using VS2005. This application interfaces with a camera and retrieves JPG images from the camera. The app displays the images as thumbnails and allows the user to click the thumbnail to get the full size picture in a scrollable window. This all works fine, however loading the JPG is slow and rotation (the way I am doing it blows out the memory, no leaks that I can find. Image size: 2048(w) X 1536(h)). I am using imgdecmp library to load the JPG image to a DDB bitmap, and implement rotation by converting the DDB to a source DIB, then creating a destination DIB with rotated dimensions, then copy the source DIB to the dest.   Hi, I have a windows mobile 5.0 for pocket pc phone (g-Smart i). Once when I restarted, the GUI elements are not coming up (except for the title bar which contains phone status icons). I could still connect through activesync and browse the registry, processes, windows and even load and execute new process. Is there a way to get the OS image from the phone. so that I can send it to microsoft. I tired to enumerate all the windows EnumWindows() and ShowWindow(hwnd, SW_SHOW) for all of them.   Hello everyone, I'm developing an application for a PDA in Evc4 which takes readings from a motion sensor device and sends the data to a remote computer via socket connection. Now, along with the motion sensor readings, I want to add in a keypress event. But I'm not sure if there is any keypress event in the pocket pc 2003 sdk.
