• Aseem Chiplonkar Windows Mobile 5.0 executable 20% larger after installing VS 2005 SP1

  I have recently installed SP1 for Visual Studio 2005, and have found that the Windows Mobile 5.0 executable I'm building has grown quite significantly: - Pre SP1: exe size was 4.10 MB - Post SP1 : exe size is 4.82 MB Nothing else has changed that would account for this difference. I wondered if this change in size might be due to different handling of compiler settings, e.g. C++ exception handling being turned off pre SP1, and now being turned on (I found in previous experiments that C++ EH can bloat the exe by about this amount). However I've inspected the settings carefully and I don't think SP1 has turned C++ EH on in my project settings -- and no amount of tweaking the settings will shrink the exe back its former size. ...Show All

However the example only shows loading a "collection". I have followed the code correctly - however when I attempt to load a GEORSS compliant file - it says "0" items have been loaded.   Hi, In my Windows Mobile project I have a datagrid and would like the user to be able to delete a data row by bringing up a context menu. If I attach a context menu to the grid, it pops up when I "right" click (hold down stylus) on the row, but does not select the row. I'm not sure how to trap the click event which brings up the context menu so I can select the row first before handling the delete menu item click (currently it just deletes the first row in the grid). Holding the stylus down on the grid/row does not fire the mouse down event. To complicate things, I have a mouse up handler which opens a data record form, so I need to specifically handle the soft panel version of a right click.   Is there a trick to getting the fake GPRS network running The WM5 emulator is able to access the network without issue when cradled but I cannot access the network via GPRS/FakeNetwork. Do I need to set a proxy server setting or something even though I'm raw on the internet I have loaded the VM network services provider but there don't appear to be any settings to muck with.   Ultimately, we would like to be able to go way beyond simple polyline overlays on maps. I.e. we would like to be able to bring the full power of WPF interactive (sparkle) animated graphic embedded in the 3D space of Virtual Earth. (all geo-located). In addition we would love to be able to download all textures and tiles for a region and work off-line. Of course, this is not possbile yet, But how close are things and what can we fake or mock up to get close to this 1. Can we host the control in a WPF application (outside of IE ) 2. • Rhubarb custom icon gets cropped in 3d view?

  hi, i am just starting out with VE and am loving it (am a convert from Google Maps, a born again VE-er). anyways, i have a nice little app going with my own custom icons, and was thrilled to see the icons in appear in both the 2D and 3D maps, but noticed that in the 3D maps, the icons get cropped in the left and bottom. i tried different sized icons with the same results. anybody have the same problem many thanks in advance, i'm sure i'll be asking more questions. There was an issue reported previously where a .PNG file was saved with non-default DPI settings in the Metadata and was being scaled and clipped.
