• Colin T. RFID Reader Project

  Hello, I'm currently working on a project which involves a serial port RFID Reader. I have connected the Reader to COM2 of my PC and i'm trying to get the signals from the RFID Tags. I'm using Visual C# and SerialPort class. I'm doing this just to ensure that the code works and when i'm done with this i will modify the code for an iPAQ (the Reader works on COM7 on iPAQ). The problem is that i can't read or write to the port. I even tried to write something to the port using port.Writeline("string") and then read it with Readline() but it seems that nothing is written and nothing can be read. When i set the RtsEnable to TRUE the BytesToRead property changed from 0 to 9 no matter what i did and still i couldn't read ...Show All

• Jweige "GetThumbnailImage" In Pocket PC Developement ?!!

  hello .. i want to use the method getthumbnailimage , but the problems is , it is not available in pocket pc developement , so what is the solution for this problem i really need an answer for that .. and for information , i am using VB .. with my best regard ,, It is necessary to unpack entire image to create thumbnail from it and that takes time even though most of unpacked data is thrown away. So I'd have to say that as good as it gets considering CPUs in devices are designed for low power, not for performance. Consider storing thumbnails so you can load them faster next time. Easy way: upgrade to NETCF V2. Hard way: create native wrapper over Imaging API and P/Invoke into it. ...Show All

The problem is that certain files in the CE file system are protected and I can't seem to read from them.   Hi, i'm trying to stream wmv file from rtsp://granton.ucs.ed.ac.uk/domsdemo/v2003-1.wmv (i saw this link somewhere in that forum). I'm using this sample to host media player control.   I am developing a Pocket PC app which allows the user to take the PDA around a parking lot while entering information on a form and saving. When the Save button is clicked I want to not only save it to the PDA but send the information to a laptop sitting in the user's vehicle. This laptop listens for a connection request. I know how to transmit and receive files using sockets but I need to be able to instantly detect when the PDA has lost the connection with the laptop (losing the signal by putting a building in between the PDA and the laptop, for instance). • gbshahaq How to programmatically add pushpin layer (without GeoRSS feed or Live Maps)?

  I was disappointed to learn I can't (easily) create my own pushpin layer without having to reference an external (to my webpage) URL. Say I want to prompt the user to enter 5 addresses and then plot the 5 together all at once. I'd imagine being able to Find() the right lat/long for each person, add a corresponding pushpin to an array for each user, and then add the array of pushpins as a layer. I don't want to copy the data out to a separate URL for privacy reasons. Besides, I already have the data in memory, I just want to display it all at once as a pushpin layer!   When I start VS2005 debugger (press F5) to debug a simple native app built for WCE5.0-based smart device, the debugger does not start and, after several seconds, displays error message "Failed to start debugging". This does not appear to be the issue in http://blogs.msdn.com/srini/archive/2006/01/05/509599.aspx , where the conflict is thought to be a co-install of Platform Builder and VS2005, as the recommended work-around does not work for me.   I am wanting to add my pictures as resources to my project. I believe, could be wrong, that will will deploy the images with the exe. If this is the case, how do I reference the images within the software and deploy them with the exe. If there is a better way to deploy my images with my exe,  please let me know.
