• Nidonocu Program that accesses database failing in Vista

  Hi, Thanks for the help here, I found out that it is because the software is not Vista digital signed, so I will have to disable quite a few signature checking before it allows the program to be installed. However I still don't have any idea why it allows those built in InstallSheild 7 to go through without any problem. After the installation, I also released that the program can't work in Vista too. Even if I have set to Win XP SP2 compatible. The program is calling a database which is in Microsoft Access format. Everytime the application trying to open the database, it will be prompted that it is currently being used or have no rights to access it.   hi, data excution prevention is not allowing me to use windows live messenger, i have tried to disable it for windows messenger but it wont allow me to, anyone know how i can disable data excution prevention on windows vista thanks for any help. • msdobrescu2 NHL 07 and FIFA 07 problems on Vista RC2

  Hi there, I have a problem running the games from EA Sports - FIFA 07 and NHL 07 on Vista RC2 (build 5744). The games seem to be OK until I try to start a match (on both games) ... the game is a lot faster than it should be so it is nearly impossible to play it... It is entirely possible that these are not bugs, and in that case, I would be grateful if anyone would correct my misunderstanding. The first bug: when a source stream derived from CSourceStream fails in OnThreadCreate, it is not called on any subsequent attempts to play the graph. This occurs because the thread handle remains open. Proposed solution: in CSourceStream::Active() replace the error check following the call to Init() with: if (FAILED(hr)) { Close(); return hr; } The second bug: when deriving from CBaseReferenceClock, you are expected to override GetPrivateTime() to return the current actual time.   Is Now WFP/E only support to English I tried the japanese in WPF/E, and I use javascript's encodeURIComponent to code it, and when I want to list it , I use decodeURIComponent to decode it, but in wpf/e I can only get the word like a rectangle. • MandoBoon July CTP Cardspace problems - Cannot run samples

  I have installed the July CTP on a fresh new machine: 1) The .NET 3.0 Runtime components 2) The Windows SDK for .NET 3.0 3) WF Extensions AFAIK, there is no corresponding Orcas tool to go along with the July CTP. All install well. However, I cannot run any of the Infocard samples. Running the setup.bat gives this errors: The service name is invalid. Apparently, there is no such service "Microsoft Digital Identity Service" installed. What am I missing Keith, My July CTP SDK samples are working ok after I changed some config settings. • Duane Doutel Unable to publish VS2005 web app to local IIS

  OK I may have missed something, but it isnt obvious. I just opened an existing webapp under Vista Ultimate x64. I built the project and then try to publish it to the local IIS (which I just installed incidentall). Whe I select Local IIS as my target, it tells me that I must be an Administrator on the local machine, BUT I AM !! Not only that, but account control is OFF so I cannot see what is wrong.   Were seeing several Vista machines, with widely varying sound hardware (onboard such as Sigmatel, Realtek, plus add-in like SB X-fi, Audigy etc) that are all exhibiting some odd behavior with our application -- a pegged CPU core. All have the latest driver updates from the OEMs, for whatever that's worth. The problem is that when our process engages audio capture, a svchost process which spawns DCOMLauncher pegs a CPU core at close to 100%. If we kill audiodg.exe, this process goes back down to zero. (and obviously, audio capture stops :-). We did a little bit of chain-saw exploratory surgery, and it looked like something related to PnP was trying to fetch an OEM[xx].inf entry.   Is there something in particular that has to be done to enable this I've installed Avalon and the other pieces with it, updated my gfx driver the the latest version from nvidia, but I'm still getting the plain aero, and I don't see anywhere to enable aero glass. My system is far above the requirements needed for it: Athlon64x2 4400, GF7800GTX, 2GB RAM...   That is incorrect, and I am shocked that anyone would tell you that.  There are card from Nvidia that do glass today.
