  I am developing an application that will run on Windows Vista. My goal is that I am trying to access the current CPU load percentage. I tried to do this via WMI with mixed results. If the program runs in elevated mode I am able to see a LoadPercentage variable that contains the current CPU load percentage. If I run the program in normal user mode everything gets populated except for the LoadPercentage variable. I believe that this behavior is due to the fact that UAC is filtering my WMI results. • rtaiss about raw socket in Vista and XP

  When login with *standard* user account, raw socket can work(create new raw socket, bind, recv etc) with raw socket on Vista 32 and Vista 64 but it can't do on XP. • Jackuline Digitally signed exe gets runtime error when launched on Vista...

  ...but when the digital signature is removed the exe is launched properly. According to Microsofts requirements for the "Certified for Windows Vista" certification all dlls, exes etc must be signed with a digital signature. We use a signature from VeriTest to sign our installation msi's according to the specifications for the "Designed for Windows XP" logo. When I sign our exe (a C++ application, not the msi) with that signature and try to launch it on Windows Vista, I get a runtime error.   Hi, We are very new to WF and trying to implement state workflow in one of our applications. We feel that the workflow instance persistance is not stable in workflowinstance table. The entry for some workflow instances automatically moves out from workflowinstance table. So we are getting "workflow with id xxxxxx not found in state persistence store" error message.   I've finally been able to mix a few videos using the sample code from the MultiVMR9, get the control over my separate inputs, etc. Now I need to output it to another monitor as well as the preview window I'm using. The sample is not real clear (or I am just totally confused now), about how to have the output go to more than one place at the same time. I can get a handle to a window on the second monitor ok, but not sure how to add that into the allocator/presenter, or even if that is the correct way to do it.   Hi everyone, In my DES application, i have a timeline. My application add sources to timeline dynamically. When i want to preview timeline, it only plays first source, not others. However i can see all sources timeline's xml file. I can also see all sources in timeline's grf file when i open grf file with notepad.   I have a pretty simple installation project created using VS 2005 installation project, and am having several issues complying with some of the requirements.   I'm seeing some odd behavior with ExternalDataExchange and wondered if I was seeing the correct behavior or what. I have an app and workflow that share data objects (versus serialized XML or something). The objects, being reference types, are created on the heap and therefore are available to objects running in the same AppDomain. The issue is I expected to see the objects serialized when passing between app and workflow (or back again) such that I would have two different instances of the objects being passed. To me, this was the architectural point of ExternalDataExchange. But that's not what I'm seeing.   Hi, I am attempting to utilize the WF rules engine on its own to validate and manipulate my application's interface. I have it working at a basic level but came up against some problems when trying to go deeper. Firstly, it appears as though the rules designer (as implemented by the RuleSetDialog class) does not allow multiple assemblies to be referenced. If my rules need access to types defined in more than one of my assemblies, this designer won't work. Only the types contained in the same assembly as the activity type can be accessed. Secondly, the designer does not work with generic types. If my rules are operating against a generic type (which I would like to do), the designer doesn't work.
