What i want to know if there is some way to use multiple sheets (in the same excel file) to show more than 65K records Eg we have 105K rows of data ...can we export 65K records in the first sheet, and the remaining 40K in the second sheet (of the same excel file) Appreciate the Help, Siddharth Hello Siddharth, Using a Table, you can force an explicit page break after a certain number of rows. Claudiu Chiorean Script jobs for restore to another server
I want to restore all jobs from one server to another. I seem to remember that in SQL 2000 there was an option to script all jobs but it seems that in 2005 you have to script them 1 at a time. Is there a more efficient way than scripting each job and then executing each script individually Thanks, -Dave you still can. just open the 'summary' window and go to jobs. highlight all the jobs and generate the script. ...Show All
Asim A SSIS - Cannot debug a script task
I am unable to step through (in debug mode) a script task. Have set breakpoint on first line of script in VSA. Click Start (in debug mode). Nothing happens. Have also tried to execute task in control flow of visual studio but it will not stop at breakpoint To be clear, do you mean a Script Task or a Script Component The former is the task available in Control Flow, the latter is in the Data Flow. Both are named as above in the toolbox, but people have a habit of using the terms interchangeably which can rather confuse things on here. The Script Task can have breakpoints applied, and the VSA debugger will pick these up and stop as you would expect, displaying the IDE and your code. Exceptions ...Show All

jheddings SQL Server Express Client app login / password
Help!! I used to have an Access database which had tables for users, roles, actions etc. This was used by a C++ client app (using ADO) which logged in, got the user ID and password (by raising a login dialog ) and then checked these against a user table and then assigned the roles and possible actions. Now we have SWL Server Express 2005 - NT Authorisation - how do I get/pass the user ID to the C++ Application so it can get the associated roles Seems silly to have 2 logins. Better still can I do away with the App's User table or make its password column invisible to all users bar Admin and the C++ App Hi, if you are using Windows Authentication you can use role based security which enable ...Show All

Daniel Hawkins NET_ADDRESS in the master.dbo.sysprocesses table
Does anyone knows how the field NET_ADDRESS in the master.dbo.sysprocesses table is encoded May I extract the IP address or MAC address from that field Just ran it on my own computer. NET_ADDRESS is the MAC address of my network card. The only way I know to correlate this to an IP address would be to somehow get it from the DHCP server. As I understand it, the only computer name/ip address in SQL Server is HOSTNAME and that's voluntarily provided by the client and the client can make up any name it wants. 1) If the net_Address starts with 00 the program which opened the connection is running in a simple environment or is a regular connection. If you have letter is ...Show All
Eusebiu Smart Aggregation
I'm having problems implementing the following in reporting services 2005. My hierarchy looks like this (just to illustrate the problem...): University->Student->Exam My query returns the following fields: University,Student,StudentPayment,ExamName,ExamScore I need to create a report that will show the hierarchy and to smartly aggregate the StudentPayment to both the Student and the University levels. The problem is that the StudentPayment field is being multiplied by the number of exams in the upper level aggregation. If only I could set the granularity level of the StudentPayment measurement... Note that I don't have access to the query, so I can't change anything on that front. Thanks, Efi ...Show All

KLJ Cannot see the cube using Crystal Analysis 9
Hi, I'm currently using SQL 2000 Analysis Manager to create a cube, and Crystal Analysis 9 to try to view the cube. When I grant the role of the cube to "Everyone", there is no problem, CA is able to view the cube. However, when the role is granted to a specific "domain account", the cube is NOT showing up in CA... My settings are: SQL 2000 on one PC, and CA on another PC. Both are under the same domain, and both are logged in using the same domain account. Also, this domain account is already granted the "Administrator" rights in SQL 2000 PC. Any idea why this is happening Anyone ran into this problem too Thanks very much in advance. sendmehere. ...Show All
