KLankford Publish A Report Services Report to SharePoint
OK... I'm running out of things to try. I have SQL Server 2005 SP2 installed and Reporting Services Addin configured. I am trying to publish a report from BIDS to SharePoint... but a box continues to pop up asking me for credencials. What am I doing wrong I have reviewed all the web.config files as per an earlier post referenced, but I only see one entry in the config file for the location tag. However, I did see this tag in two config files... not certain if that is something I should be concerned with I'd really like to just get a sample report up on the Sharepoint Server so I can move forward. gafferuk Client Certificates with SQL Mobile replication
I am currently trying to replicate a SQL Mobile 2005 database with a SQL Server 2005 database through web synchronization using SSL Server AND Client Certificates. On IIS, with "Require Client Certificates" unchecked, I can replicate fine. Once I turn it on, I get a message from replication saying "A Secure Socket Layer connection is required to access this site". I have installed a client certificate in IE, and can access the https:// servername /Ojt/sqlcesa30.dll site (I tried removing the client certificate, and I was denied access, then reinstalled it and it worked - so I think that part is working). Does anyone have any experience with this My production operating environment requires client-side certificates. ...Show All
sk3636 need to convert this SQL2000 DTS validation code to SQL2005 SSIS
Hello, How do I convert VBSCRIPT code in a DTS package which is used for data validation to SQL 2005 SSIS Thanks, Michael Michael, There isn't really a tool to do that for you. Its a manual process I'm afraid. If you explain what sort of data validation you want to do then you may find people on here will be able to help you achieve the same in SSIS. -Jamie Hello, I have a source table which contains some invalid dates (can be null, letters, etc). I want to check to see if the date is valid. If the date is valid then I want to use it. If the date is not valid then I went to set the destination field to null. In the past I used vbscript code like Dim dtStart Dim d ...Show All
AlucardHellSing How do I create a checkpoint file?
hi everyone, Does anyone ever used or created something like that What kind of format it might be and so on... TIA ssis can create this file automatically if it's not exists but note Checkpointusage must be IfExists Thanks for that. Ok about the format but I'm looking for any sample of that XML file or how to build it from an editor. Why would you want to create one manually SSIS creates and maintains checkpoint files as required, if you have enabled the relevent options. SSIS then uses the file if available to restart from the point of failure, in a given state. If you want to see what a file looks like, use a package to create it for you. shahrul Cannot configure SQL Server Express 2005 for remote connections
Hello. I have SQLEXPRESS 2005 installed on my laptop running Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. I have an application that can connect to the local instance with no problem. The other day, I tried to configure SQLEXPRESS 2005 for a remote connection from my desktop. To date, I have been unable to figure out how to do this. I have followed the instructions posted at various locations on the internet, but to no avail. While I can configure SQLEXPRESS 2005 to allow TCP/IP connections, I have been unable to restart the server. Here is the pertinent snippet from the error log: <time> Server A self-generated certificate was successfully loaded for encryption. <time> Server Error: 26024, Severity: 16, State: 1. 2006-08-14 21:02:27.18 ...Show All
Liam .net How can I get a row count of CTE recordset?
Hi everybody, I want to get a row count of temporary CTE recordset. My query is like this: With SQLPaging As ( Select Row_number() Over (Order by Row_num) as RowNumber, Row_num, Column_A, Column_B From OriginalTable ) Select * from SQLPaging Where RowNumber between 21 and 30 Let's assume SQLPaging definition contains 1,000 rows. If I use @@rowcount, it returns only 10. I.e. number of actual rows per page. What I want is that I want to know row count of SQLPaging CTE without extra counting query. I think SQLServer already knows how many rows CTE definition contains. The reason that I don't want to use extra counting query is that if SQLPaging definition has row performance query (lik ...Show All
ims.com Authentication across internet
From what I have understood, Reporting Services could be configured to use Basic Authentication. In this way, a user can access a RS-server across the internet and he/she will be prompted for a valid username/password when trying to access. However, from what I can understand this username and password will be sent uncrypted over the Internet (from the client machine to the RS-server), right My problem is, I need to give access to users acress the internet to a RS-server. The users uses all kind of operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS tec). And the communication needs to be encrypted. How would you recommend me to implement security for this solution I guess some kind of "Forms authentication" will have to be used Bu ...Show All

SivaS SHIFT + SPACE in Table Editor
The default behaviour for pressing SHIFT + SPACE when editing text inside a cell in the Table Editor view in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express is to change focus to select all cells comprising the current row. This behaviour lends itself to the default behaviour for pressing SHIFT + {LEFT | RIGHT | UP | DOWN } in changing the focus to select adjacent cells. However, I find this is quite annoying as the SHIFT + SPACE combination is quite a common miss-type when entering text in UpperCaps or when entering text with spaces while holding the SHIFT key. Anyone else have this gripe with MSSMSE Anyone know how to disable this behaviour Simon Do you use Table editior quite a lot IMHO it is bette ...Show All

Rhubarb Loop container to process all excel files
What I'm trying to achieve is a SSIS package that will pick up 1 or more excel files, process the data in them via the conditional splitter, pushing the good data into a table, and all other rows into an error table. I'm having some issues using the ForEach container to process multiple excel spreadsheets into tables. The excel import into the tables is more or less working (imports data for good cases, but uses a null if the Excel Source when it gets an unexpected value - but that's a seperate problem). I found something related to this when searching, but it related to CTPs (June and September) and trying to reuse the connection strings they built up there (using my own variable names, naturally) causes a 'Property Va ...Show All
