• Rich Wood Package randomly stops

  I have a very weird issue in my latest package. I run it and it just randomly stops. When I watch it in debug mode or not in debugging a command prompt window will flash for an instant (too fast to read) and then the package will stop. It stops inside of a for each loop and the "on completion" is never fired for the loop. I never receive any errors - its just like someone hit the stop button. Sometimes it will process hundreds of files before stopping, other times only a few.   Hello, I have a command line as following, with DTEXEC to launch the execution of a package and to set a value (13335) of an user variable called CIB (string type): dtexec /f c:\temp\PackageInsert.dtsx /set \Package\DataFlowTask.Variables[Utilisateur::CIB].Properties[Value];13335 But I have got an error message saying that the object is not known in the package.   Hi, I'm currently working on a project which uses a SQL Express 2005 database. I want to be able to setup SQL Express from my C# program so that it can perform backups to a specified path location at the requested interval itself. This would free up my program from having to manage the backups. Just wanted to know if this is possible Also, when the current database becomes corrupt will SQL Express perform the restore for the user automatically, instead of them having to manually request a restore I realize that it might not be able to handle the restores in the same way as backups, but I figured I'd at least ask.   Hi, The custom security extension generates the following error, when try to access Report Manager. The specifications are as follows. 1. Its 64-bit SQL Server (Reporting Services) and installed as default instance. 2. The Report Server is accessible programmatically. I can publish, view reports without problems, but Report Manager gives an error. 3. Another instance (named instance) of Reporting Services with the same custom security extension on same server is working fine. Report Manager opens up without problems. 4.   SQL rookie, typically use SQL for apps, so no bare minimums. Recently used SQL2K5 to host two databases for my Windows Sharepoint Services implementation. When I try to setup a maint plan to backup the two databases, I get an error at the final click of the wizard - see pasted output log below. After doing some googling, I found that Integration Services needed to be installed. I installed Integration Services and still get the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I have a table that I want to export to a flat file . The problem I am running into is, the person I am sending it to needs it in a specific format. It is a comma serperated file and I need quotes on some of the data but not all. For example : "1234",abc,"id" I know how to make it all or none but not conditionally. Also I have some fields that the total in them is 0.00 and when this gets exported to the file the format become .00, is there a way to make it 0 with out changing the ones that have totals. Thanks.   I can't find the answer to these problems. I'm using SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition. I have a report with 15,036 rows and about 15 columns. It utilizes a table and a report header and footer. One column has data containing hyperlinks to another report. 1) When I export this report to Excel, the result is 14.2MB file.   Hi, I having a problem getting the child package variable values into a parent package. Here is the scenario; I have parent package(Master) calling two child packages using execute package task. I have no problem to pass variable values from the parent to child using the parent configuration but not able to get the variable values from the child to parent. I am setting the package status in each child package based on certain conditions and determine the final status in a parent based on child package variable statuses.
