  hi all, i have a package in ssis that needs to deliver data from outside servers with odbc connection. i have desined the package with dataflow object that includes inside a datareader source. the data reader source connect via ado.net odbc connection to the ouside servers and makes a query like: select * from x where y= and then i pass the data to my sql server. my question is like the following: how do i config the datasource reader or the dataflow so it will recognize an input value to my above query i.e for example: select * from x where y=5 (5 is a global variable that i have inside the package). i did not see anywhere where can i do it. please help, tomer it says its failed executing ...Show All

• billqu Problem when launchin reportBuilder

  One of our Client is using our WebApplication (ASP.NET2). In this application it is possible to lauch reportBuilder to allow reports creation. We never have any problem with this feature except today when we tried this feature on one our client computer. Normaly when we tried this feature for the first time in a computer we get a window to allow us to install the ReportBuilder Application. So we juste have to click on run and then some plugin is installed and after that reportBuilder is working fine. When we tried to launch ReportBuilder for the time today on this computer we didn't have the choice to install the pluging but only to download it. So i've download it and put it on a folder.   Everyday at just gone midnight, my MSSQL server won't accept connections. About 25 minutes later, it seems to be OK. There's no third party backup software running on this machine which is MSSQL server aware.   Hi everyone, I am not able to access my report server. Here is the message i get when i try to configure it.   We are testing our product installation and run into the following problem on Windows XP and Server 2003, but not 2000: I am trying to attach a database using a command line program that we made, but get the following error: Could not open new database 'Launcher5'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted. File activation failure. The physical file name "C:\MARC\MARC5\Data\Launcher5_log.LDF" may be incorrect. The log cannot be rebuilt when the primary file is read-only.   Hi, everyone, I'm new in SSAS... Yesterday I mapped a new hierachy to a perspective and then the database died... I tried to connect to it in Visual Studio and open it in Management Studio, however, neither responsed, then the delay notification appeared...   Hi, I have followed the steps from the .NET FW SDK QuickStart Configuration (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Samples\Setup\html\ConfigDetails.htm), and have got an error message trying to grant the ASP.NET User account access to the databases by the command sqlcmd -E -S (local)\SQLExpress -Q "sp_grantlogin LEONEW\ASPNET" where LEONEW is my local machine name, and the ASPNET account exists in the Users group.   Hi All, I have read what people have posted on this but don't seem to find exactly what i want. I tried the methods from this website like many suggest http://www.sqlis.com/default.aspx 311 . But all this seems to do insert new records but does not update the existing records. This is what i want to do. I have an online store that uses an SQL DB with a products table. I have an excel/csv spreadsheet with the same columns as in the sql database. It is much quicker for me to update the spreadsheet than logging in to sql to do it.
