• doener WDS 2.6 does not index mailbox and PST while Office Group Policy is used

  We have a MS Office 2003 Group Policy (GPO) that turns on many of the Outlook controls. (This is not the GP for Desktop Search...but for Outlook, Word, etc.). Windows Desktop Search 2.6.5000.5401 will not index emails in the Exchange mailbox and the Outlook PST files until I "turn off" the Office GPO. Can you help me determine which particular policy/rule within that Office GPO is affecting WDS And what might we do so that we can keep our Outlook/Office GPO as it is but have WDS be "accepted" and get past the GPO rules Thanks. • Noral WDS Takes too much harddisk space?

  WDS Takes up more than 4 GB of harddisk already and it has only indexed 4022 items and missing 3271 on a 80 GB harddisk. Sounds crazy to me. I saw that 500 Gb of free space was recommended. • Clintonf WDS Installation & Lookout Search

  Hi I have been trying to install either Lookout Search or as an alternative WDS 3 but with no success. Lookout search starts the installation process but then tells me outlook is running and it cannot install. I have tried to install with outlook closed and open with no success. WDS again this starts the installation process but then says it cannot find the log file and gives up.   I am looking for a way using the SendMessage API or something along those lines to activate a different Tab from an external application, so I can detect if a URL is already open and restore that instance of IE and automatically switch to the proper tab. I used the feature in favorites to add a tab group to my favorites, but I see no way to open a tab goup. That is, open all tabs in a group (that was saved in favoties) at once with one click of a menu item.     Sometimes I just have to write because tonight I received a PHD in Vista Viruses. Yes, a new generation of viruses is  evolving and this was the meanest nastiest virus I’ve ever seen. Perhaps, not deliberately it crashes the system on boot. The virus is an emulated service with a driver attached to the file system as an alternate stream. • heimdaloz WDS 3.0 Beta 2 doesnt index any files

  It only seems to be indexing Outlook items for me. I explicitly went in and added a bunch of folders under the options but no dice. Matter of fact I think it indexed them at some point and then went and deleted them from the index since the "Indexing Status" number seemed to shrink. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but have the same behavior. Any ideas I'm seeing WDS 3.0b2 seem to "forget" the list of folders that I specify to idnex.   Hello all. Sorry if i selected wrong forum :). I have a problem with catching events from IWebBrowser2 in IE 7. I'm using ATL to create WebBrowser control on the dialog to use it as HTML editor. After creation i call IWebBrowser2::Navigate2 to navigate "about:blank". In IE 6 i catch events in the following order: DISPID_BEFORENAVIGATE2, DISPID_DOWNLOADCOMPLETE, DISPID_NAVIGATECOMPLETE2. And all works fine! But in IE 7 i don't catch DISPID_NAVIGATECOMPLETE2 after DISPID_DOWNLOADCOMPLETE. Instead of it i catch DISPID_STATUSTEXTCHANGE, DISPID_COMMANDSTATECHANGE several times and then i catch DISPID_DOWNLOADBEGIN.   Hi I recently closed my laptop running windows xp home and when i restarted it ... my desktop was in split screen mode about 80% to the desktop and the other 20% was showing in folders mode with showing thedown the left hand side .... • Igor L. Kravchenko Vista Machine with Office 2007- Outlook not finding emails. Instant Search/Indexing issue

  Hi, I have search everywhere for a solution and still I do not seem to find a solution. Outlook is not finding any emails (instant search). I think it is not really indexing anything. Vista search works perfect (seems like it). The index says it is done (outlook is included on it) As I receive emails, the list of pending items to index just grows and grows. I am using pop accounts not exchange. (I already checked the instant search options, the indexing thorugh control panel). Any ideas.   So far I was using WDS 2.6.5. I had created VB.NET application and used SDK to get search result programatically. • Junner2003 WDS Deskbar *Badly* Encroached On Taskbar Real Estate - Fix? (Toasted WDS Meantime)

  A user wanted *less* WDS & Language space (actually, much less) used on her Taskbar and *more* for open Window tabs, but everytime I removed something (e.g. microphone icon), WDS Deskbar expanded in size. At the end, it was taking an incredible ~50% of Taskbar space and thus quickly crowding Taskbar window tabs to almost no width, and to a second row - i.e. doing exactly the opposite of what the user wanted :-(. I didn't have time to investigate much - just tried Help (search not available) and then a quick online search, and when solution was not quickly apparent, I uninstalled WDS.
