masmith WDS not indexing inside PGP folder
My WDS configuration does not find files inside a PGP folder. All my source code resides inside a PGP folder. This folder is mounted under a subdirectory off the root of one of my local drives. For example, from a Powershell prompt, I can CD C:\PGPFolder\MyCode and be there. I cannot find any files that exist inside the folder. The folder shows the contents of a PGP store once mounted. I typically mount the store immediately after logging in and I rebuilt the WDS index while the folder was mounted. The partition that contains the PGP folder is specified to be indexed. WDS can find everything else on the partition but cannot find anything inside the folder even though Search Companion has no problem. Steps to reproduce: 1. Instal ...Show All

Adam Stuart Problem When Processing a Cube from Commerce
Does anyone know why the DateDimensionView created with the Data Warehouse Configurator has the following SQL clause: select * from date where dateid > 0x0000000003E7 The clause "dateid > 0x0000000003E7" is preventing a cube, mscsSales, to be processed. What determines the value 0x0000000003E7 is to be used in this clause Thanks in advance! When the cube is processed I get the following error: "A member with key '000000000001' was found in the fact table but was not found in the level 'Date Id' of the dimension 'Date'.; Time:1/23/2007 3:22:24 PM" I think the problem is that the child class has records with id=0x000000000001 an the parent doesn't have this id. ...Show All
dtsn BHO and ExplorerBar in a single DLL?
Is there any special precaution we need to take if we are going to package both the BHO and the explorer bar in a single dll In VC++ terms both the sources are in a single project and get compiled into a single dll. Or, is it adviceable to separate them into two different dlls If yes, why should they be separated Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks hi i dont think so it will create any problem because while working on my projects i gone throu many examples related to BHO which encapsulated toolbars and were very useful ..same will be true for explorer bar iguess. Thanks for the response HadaytUllah! It is just working fine, but I wanted to get the opinion of the experts' in this forum ... ...Show All
Cactus77 Loading And Updating The Commerce Catalog
I would like to ask for advice on loading the Commerce catalog from an outside source. Let me first explain how we are currently doing this and ask for comment on how we could do it more effieciently as it now takes an unacceptable amount of time to load it with a lot of data. First, our site is set up for multiple stores. Somewhere around 1000 stores will be loaded into the system, currently there are a little over 300 stores. All stores share the same basic product data, or master catalog, however, not all stores sell the same products and each store has its own pricing. Therefore, we have created a BaseCatalog containing all available product data. Each store is then setup with its own VirtualCatalog which contains just the products ...Show All
Nonu_k Wireless Speaker System
Hi I like to design many things and im wondering if its possible (and if its already been made) a speaker system where you can keep adding more to your system. Basically you have the transmitters, these will be plugged into anything that plays sound from a PC to a TV or Hi-Fi system. There can be only one channel where all these play to so you can have either one thing playing or more than one thing Then you have the speaker which recieve the audio from all the transmitters, the speakers can be added in any number so you can have a few in each room of the house. Awesome for a party! Im stuck on the power for the speakers becuase the transmitters can be plugged in but haveing ever speaker plugged in to the wall or every speaker ...Show All
Intelligence Problem crawling with a hierarchical custom protocol handler
I have developed a hierarchical custom protocol handler that I'm integrating with Windows Search on Vista. The handler has a IUrlAccessor and IFilter implementation that enumerates the contents of a directory by returning the search URL of each "file" in the directory as a text chunk with the STAT_CHUNK structure specifying the GathererPropset and PID_GTHR_DIRLINK propid. My understanding is that the indexer should take these URLs and queue them for indexing, in which case I should see subsequent calls to CreateAccessor with those URLs. However, instead I'm seeing the indexer call CreateAccessor once to get the directory accessor, then it reads the dirlink text chunks, but it never make the expected additional calls to Create ...Show All
jorijo Who is using Commerce Server 2007?

Any help is appreciated! -- Salim Hemdani I am drooling to know who it is :)...but I understand about NDAs ;). -Max Duwayne, I recommend posting this issue separately since this thread is getting pretty full and you'll get a better response from a new post. Having said that, I'd recommend the following: 1) Export your existing CS2002 catalog as XML. 2) Export an empty CS2007 catalog as XML. 3) Use a diff tool such as Araxis Merge to compare the XML and modify the CS2002 catalog to match the CS2007 catalog format. 4) Import the mod ...Show All

Hexadecimator Syntax for searching filenames only
I would like to use Windows Desktop Search 3 (Vista SDK) to search only for filenames (ie. give me all files with names containing "bob" in folder "c:\temp"). Although I know how to restrict the search to a specific folder I don't know how to create a query that does _not_ take the file contents into account. - Oliver Hi - Check out the wds help files: Rules for advanced searches Properties for file type: All Try using file: or filename: HTH Something that may help you --- I've seen the suggestion of using Advanced Query Syntax in a couple of places, there is a blog entry about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/cheller/archive/2 ...Show All

Harrison wrote: The registry hack really isn't a good solution either - it simply moves all toolbars above the address bar. Ah, but for me it was a good solution. I'd just gotten used to being able to jump to the menu bar by double tapping the top left corner of my laptop's touch pad. All of a sudden, I wasn't getting there in IE7. As for sarcasm in a forum, it was lost on me. Maybe that tired-frustrated thing factored into my missing it. I guess ...Show All
Webbert WDS not returning results based on picture meta-tags
I'm searching for pictures based on keywords and description tags but the only results I get back are pictures where the search words are only in the actual file name. I had installed JPEG iFilter; that didn't get the results I wanted so, having read which files WDS indexes and seeing that it indexed picture files using the meta-data, I uninstalled JPEG iFilter with the hope that WDS would get me the results I wanted but it doesn't. I've re-indexed a couple of times but that hasn't helped. Any ideas C.A.R. Could you try rebuilding your index and re-running your search I'm not familiar with JPEG IFilter and it may have changed the property data that was indexed by WDS.
