@lex(is) WDS won't recognize Outlook
Desktop Search was working fine. Then I noticed that emails (Outlook 2003 SP2) were no longer available for search. Reinstallation has not helped. Suggestions Are you running Office 2007 with parts of Office 2003 still installed parts of office 2003 would include Front Page and other Office 2003 software. If you do, try to do an office repair for 2007 and see if you can index the emails then. Thanks and let me know, David Peng (MSFT) I am having the exact same issue! I am using Outlook 2007 in cached mode with WDS 3.0 for XP. I have tried rebuilding the index, uninstalling and reinstalling, creating a new Windows profile,... but nothing works. NetPochi How to calculate the mailbox hash to construct URL path
Hello, It seems WDS is using some hash number in MAPI url to locate items. For example, the text in red : mapi://LocalHost/default/Mailbox - Wang, George ( $d3f5 )/ Is it possible to expose the hashing routine so that we can construct the URL from mailbox ENTRYID Here is a doc about something similiar, http://blogs.msdn.com/stephen_griffin/archive/2006/05/10/594641.aspx , search for "ComputeStoreHash", not sure if they are related somehow Thanks! Could you show a sample of how you went through the returned URL and were able to open it if you grab the entry id, and pass it through the example algorithim, you get a hex returned value. That doesn't give you the path though... an ...Show All
vicky_dceian WDS in Vista: is 'instant search' a part of WDS?
In Vista os, is 'instant search' part of WDS (wds 3.0 ) How does this relate to the object SearchDesktopClass() (or does it ). Where can I find sample code, or a specific reference for using it in C++ or C# (if I have to), even html/javascript My thrust here is incorporating 'instant search' into a Vista targeted application. I haven't exactly found the answers wading through what I've found published. Thanks in advance. mike Mike, I'm going to refer this question to our SDK guru. Being in beta, the 3.0/Vista Search documentation is spread out more than is ideal (something that should be addressed by the RTM release of the Vista SDK). I hope to hear back soon. Primate101 IE7 and issue with TrackPopupMenu(Win32) within ActiveX-control
Hello. I have a trouble with calling win32-function TrackPopupMenu from ActiveX in new Interner Explorer 7 (RC1 and all betas). The situation is: I have some ActiveX-control - "MyPopupMenu". This control is being used to show context popup menu. To do it, it used win32 function from winuser.h. There's an issue with one of them - TrackPopupMenu. Control has worked fine in IE6, but in IE7 it doesn't. When TrackPopupMenu is called in non-dialog window, nothing happens! There's no popup menu (it was constructed by calling CreatePopupMenu and InsertMenuItem previously). But popup menu still works fine in dialog windows (ones that created in script by window.showModalDialog). Can anybody help me THX. Hi Dave. ...Show All
Shane Kirk Support for SVG
Given the increasing support for SVG in other browsers (see http://www.svg.org/story/2006/12/9/162846/181) when can we expect to see Internet Explorer support this popular specification There is a major push away from desktop GIS to web-based GIS, particularly intranet GIS apps, that has been happening and will accelerate as GIS vendors realise their customers want spatially enabled applications, not just viewers. Many developers, me included, cut these apps using ASP.Net for IE-only customers. Right now, the discontinued Adobe SVG plug-in is our only efficient way of providing interactive maps. We are all hanging on a thread here. Common, Microsoft! Give us the tools to get the job done ...Show All
Andrew Mercer Hideous "smaller" font size
Setting Text Size (under the Page menu) to "Smaller" results in a truly hideous and unreadable font for many pages (including the message texts in this forum) . Strangely some of the following replies are legible. This one is perfectly legible. There seems to be no pattern as to why some are legible. Just change your Text Size to "Smaller" and review the above. See the differences But this one is hideous, which all seems really strange. What is causing it to be different ... and so is this one... amahbod Non-Credit Card Orders
Hi, I am using the latest starter site and I would like to allow a user to place an order with a Purchase Order # instead of a Credit Card. I have not been able to find out how to enable this functionality and not require a Credit Card to check out. Please Advise. There are a couple of things you need to do in order to enable this functionality in the Starter Site. It is on my list of things to blog about but I'll give you a few pointers right now. The main thing is you need to modify the PaymentControl.Payments property to return PurchaseOrderPayment types. You can either do this by returning a single PurchaseOrderPayment and allowing the user to modify the PurchaseOrderNumber, or yo ...Show All
BobTheBuild IE 6 & 7 Will Not Submit Forms with the Enter Key when the Form WAS Hidden
I'm having trouble submitting forms using the enter key in IE 6 & 7 where the form was hidden. I have pages that need to be hidden when loading and are then displayed when they are fully loaded. Some of these pages contain forms. These forms will not submit when the enter key is pressed because the form was hidden. Apparently this has nothing to do with the current display status of the form. I've tried a number of work arounds including: Using visibility vs. display Removing the attribute from the body tag and applying the style with javascript following the tag in the document Applying the style with a class attribute Using an input element of type submit in the form Setting the height of the body to 0px then exp ...Show All

mognog Using Vista?
Good idea Joe! Okay, I'll go first. I'm using Vista RC1 full time now. The computer seems quieter--doesn't take so many trips to the hard disk for VM paging. I find going back to XP an unpleasantry, so I think Microsoft is succeeding here. Glass is nice. I think the performance is what I expected it to be on an Intel Advanced Graphics card (Dell Dimension 9100). Office 2007 is also pleasant to use, but they stil have some cleanup work to do on their UI. Who else is using Vista Brian I'm using build 5600 (right now) on my Toshiba Tecra M4, and I'm loving it. It's fast, solid, and dare I say it--I actually like Aero Glass and the visual effects. I'm still no ...Show All
