Yann BOURON how to search for a Custome using API
Hello, I am brand new to CS2007 and was running some sample code I found in the documentation for CreateMarketingCampaign. The first time it runs it is fine but 2nd time it blows up with Customer already exist error or such. So my question is how do I search for a Customer by name so I can get its ID value and delete that customer. Customer cu = marketingSystem.Customers.NewCustomer(); cu.Name = "Example Customer" ; cu.Industry = ic.Name; cu.Save( true ); marketingSystem.Customers.Search(searchclause) I just do not understand how to create the SearchClause object to search by the customer name Figure that once I can find the Customer, then I can delete: marketingSystem.Customers.Delete(in ...Show All

Josh Smith Search Wildcard Characters
It seems that quite a few characters are interpreted as an OR unless enclosed in quotes. Specifically the - (dash) character. Is there a way (and where) this can be customized. All of my clients parts numbers have a dash in them so the Search is somewhat confusing for the end-user. I looked through the documentation but could not seem to find it. Please Advise. Colin and Vinayak, Thank you very much for the response and clearing up the issue for me. Xcel... Hi, Are you referring to the product catalog search If so, is this the specification search or free-text query search Cheers, Colin Xcel, As Vinayak points out there are some ...Show All
Buhari WDS Failing to Find Older Word Documents in Folders, but OK in Outlook and zip files!?
Hi, I installed WDS a few weeks ago, and all seemed fine, but I've just noticed a oddity where it is not correctly finding older Word documents, but only if they exist in a Folder. If the same word document exists in a zip file in a folder or as an attachment to an Outlook e-mail then it is being found. I have a Word document that dates from 2003, written with Word 2000 I think. The same document exists: 1) as an attachement to an e-mail in a PST file. 2) in a WinZip file in a Folder in the file system. 3) as a word document in a Folder in the file system. Using WDS finds 1 and 2, but not 3. Even more bizarrely, a) if I edit the document, make a minor change and save it, then it is found, and b) if I search on a word t ...Show All
Gordon F Documentation for BHOs and Toolbars
I have a BHO and custom toolbar that works with IE6. Where can I find developer documentation for converting these to work with IE7 Has the IE7 developer documentation been released Is there a BHO upgrade (IE6 to IE7) guide Thanks, Frank This is good feedback, thanks. We're working to clean up the IEAddons site, and to ensure that the Developer Tools in particular get lots more love. You may find some of the content here: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/dev.asp worthwhile. Thanks Eric I consider a lack of documentation on developing for IE7 to be a specific issue. Neither the 'it should work like it did' nor 'suck and see' approach really en ...Show All
Matt Ortiz Support for Group Policies?
Are there any support for controlling WDS 3.0 with group policies Thanks Stefan Skagert, Unfortunately, group policies aren't currently supported with WDS 3.0. For now, we are advising that customers requiring group policy support stick with WDS 2.6.x. We are planning to add group policy support to WDS 3.0 in the future as it is our long term goal to migrate all customers on to that technology. Paul Nystrom - MSFT ...Show All
cafeasp Full multi-tier ASP.NET code generation solution?
Any recommendations ...for a full multi-tier ASP.NET code generation solution Thank you, Michael. Hi Michael, If you are looking for a customized client specific code generation then I would recommend you to go for a class generator. Class generator/logic generator is something which will pull basic building logic from xml in association with xslt to generate business logics. Once you create a basic framework then you can create the entire solution logic at any number of times on a click away. At a former employer, CodeSmith was pretty widely used. Pretty flexible, very quick. http://www.codesmithtools.com/ Anyone look ...Show All
pjcozzi Commerce Server on XP
Hi, According to Installation Guide and Documentation Commerce Server 2007 works on WinXP. I tried to install Developer Edition and CSarpSite, but it failed. I followed the instructions and I didn't receive any error messages. But some components are allways missing. Have you ever installed CS2007 on WinXP successfully Thanks for your help! I'm new to VPC. What would be an advantage of using VPC. I've started to install WS 2003 VPC on top of XP but stopped to get this answered. How would I develop using VS 2005 on XP onto VPC running on the same machine. Or is the idea to have VPC running WS2003 Std or E R2 and within that OS to run CS2007, VS2005 and SQL Server If this is the case not only I h ...Show All
ozakiweb Displaying PDFs in IE7 from a CD
Our non-profit organization puts out a lot of information and training materials on CDs, and the mechanism used to organize it is a "website" that the user can open on their PC. I am all they can afford in the way of an IT department, but I admit readily that though I am more computer literate than the average gen-X member, I am in WAY over my head. Until SP2 it was easy enough to include a lot of our required paperwork in pdf form, and all the user had to do was click to open the file...when SP2 hit, I included MOTW on the html pages, and embedded all the pdf's in htm files so they would open. Now in Explorer 7, that solution no longer works... So how do I display pdf's from a CD in IE7 ...Show All
Paul Mitchell Network Project
Hello everyone here at MSDN. I really would like to get some advice from everyone here on a community and a project that I am working on putting together with my team. This project has been worked on for a month however we have had some trouble here and there organizing people on it. The project is a BetaNetwork, a site that brings together communities and unites them into one convenient portal with a directory. I honestly wish that I could get some opinions on it and some advice. I really would appreciate this very much, and I thank you endlessly if you could simply take a glance and tell me what you think. :) The community that I run is www.WinBetaSecrets.com Or with the network in place: http://www.winbetasecrets.com/forum/index.php ac ...Show All
Whoisit IE7 Rendering is Not Right
Hello, Every since IE7 beta 1, I've had a problem with IE not rendering correctly: fonts are all wrong size, lines show up in weird places, etc. The only solution to this has been to roll back to IE6 or use FireFox. I thought that once the final release came out that I would surely not have this problem anymore. Well, it all still looks the same. Which makes me think that the first beta must have left something on my computer or my hardware isn't agreeing with IE7. I'd put my money on the first... Before I just rebuild the machine from scratch, does anyone have any ideas on completely cleaning out everything that might have been put on the machine from previous IE7 installs Thanks! Zoltan Schavel How can we make an ActiveX control interact with a USB controller?
I am attempting to write an ActiveX control that will play an audio file while accepting commands from a USB-connected foot pedal. The USB foot pedal dll is a unmanaged, non COM-compliant dll that requires p/invoke to be used from .NET. How can I use an unmanaged DLL inside an ActiveX control I need this to work with Vista and IE7. I am replying to my own post in case somebody else has a similar question. To use an unmanaged .dll in an .NET ActiveX control, you must pre-install the .dll to the C:\Windows\System32 directory. COM+ and .NET dependencies will be downloaded automatically. Your ActiveX control will need full trust, so you have two options: Give the containing zone permissions to run full tr ...Show All

The helps prevent websites from spoofing things such as the logon screens of other websites. This is a new security enhancement for Internet Explorer 7.
