Radim Hampel Interface device and control software
I am developing an interface device that might be revolutionary. I have created a simple hardware prototype with an embedded processor to extract the data from the sensors and am having great difficulty getting the data into my PC for processing and analysis. I have done a lot of programming with assembly, C, and FORTRAN, but very little PC work. Moving up to the .NET and Windows environment is proving to be a significant challenge. Maybe if I describe my needs someone can tell me a way or help develop a roadmap to get there in a reasonable amount of time. My device will provide six integers representing acceleration in the six degrees of freedom (linear motion along X, Y and Z, and rotational motion about X, Y and Z). My ...Show All
Vijay TV Indexing a mapped network drive for WDS 3.0
I have recetly installed WDS 3.0 over WDS 2.6.5. I cannot select a network drive to index in the "change selected locations" menu under options. I have also mapped a network drive, and I still cannot select it under the "change selected locations" menu under options to index it. How do I select a folder or a network drive to add to folders to be indexed I had the same issue - likely a question of permissions. I changed security context of "UNCFAT DMS" service to one that has access to my UNC pathnames, restarted the service, and rebuilt the index. All is well now. Have you installed the UNC add-in Once the add-in is installed a new tab wil ...Show All
Hussain Saffar Problems enabling WDS in the Enterprise
Our network consists of Win2003 Servers and WinXP clients. We installed WDS on some clients, and faced the following serious problems: 1. When WDS was configured in some clients to also index the network drives, for some other clients, some remote files became "Read Only" during their work on these files. It seems that the indexing process gained some exclusive access to these files. 2. When we tried to disable the indexing of the network drives - WDS neglected this configuration and continued to index all drives. It seems to us that WDS is somewhat not matured enough for the enterprise. Can anyone help Thanks, Gadi The problem you have described sounds similar to the issu ...Show All

No matter how many times I install/un-install, even with different versions I cannot actually get to the program. any help would be appreciated. LouArnold JimmyWidgets
--- Original Post --- Hi everyone! My current project is JimmyWidgets, a widget program like Apple Dashboard, but for PC! You can even make new widgets in DLL format and post em on the online database! When I've made more widgets (I've only got 2 at the moment), I'll post it at www.jimmyware.co.uk . It's going to be open-source, so you can download the source from there too. Here's a screenshot: http://www.freewebs.com/robinjam/JimmyWidgets%5FScreenshot.jpg I await any comments/suggestions! (But please don't be too harsh about my efforts, it took me HOURS) P.S. A list of problems I need to fix: The online database currently lets you download the same widget twice, making startup time longer (because ...Show All
hrubesh IE7 the culprit? outlook express hotmail problem
I use OE6 to archive my hotmail locally via dial-up until I installed IE7 and then I'm requested to logon when synchronizing my hotmail folders. I have not been able to logon yet and synch my mail. I also have McAfee security running and have disabled it to see if the connection is being firewalled to no avail. I just need to know for sure if hotmail is no longer available to OE users or there is an easy fix to restore what was a very handy facility. Help! Afew minutes after I posted this I found KB907942, an obscure update that Most Magnificent Microsoft has for just this problem. I will repost if it doesn't work. Sorry riggs, I think you're probably much more qualified than I to address this problem ...Show All
dba_sql Writing a BHO in Java / JavaScript / C++
Hi everyone. It's pretty clear that a BHO (Browser Helper Object) can be written using C++/ATL, but I was wondering: 1) Can a BHO be written entirely in Javascript (if yes, can you recommend links to examples or docs ) 2) Can a BHO be written (mostly) in Java What I mean is, even if a little C++/ATL "glue" is required, could most of a BHO be written in Java The MSDN docs are focused on languages that Microsoft prefers, and I cannot find any references to extensions / plug-ins / add-ons / add-ins / BHOs written in Java. Note that I am specifically interested in a BHO, meaning code which the user installs into the browser as an Add-On/Extension, and which can run as each web page is loaded. I'm not talking about an ActiveX ...Show All

Where is the form fill tool by Microsoft If anyone has upgraded to the latest version of Windows Desktop Search tool you will notice that the form fill and password saver tool is GONE! Don’t get me wrong this is the best desktop search I have ever seen but I need a good password saver. I don’t want any of the tools suggested on the IE7 add-ons page. Juliano Nunes Desktop Search Issues with 3.0 Beta & Outlook 2007
I have read a few threads on this issue, but they don't apply directly to the problem I am having. After upgrading to Outlook 2007, I installed the 2.6.5 Desktop Search. After the installation, next to the search bar in Outlook 2007 I saw the a highlighted link that said "click here to enable desktop search" I clicked on this and it had me install the Beta 3 Desktop Search, which automatically checked both boxing under Indexing in the Search Options box under Outlook 2007, personal folders and archive folder. Indexing started shortly thereafter and I was up and running. The next day I uninstalled the Windows Beta Toolbar, which was installed separately from the Desktop Search. After being uninstalled, the ind ...Show All

Hi, I am tying to import into catalog manager Polish and Russian descriptions. I have successfully imported other languages such as Spanish, French, German and Italian but the characters in Polish and Russian do not take for some reason. The descriptions in Polish and Russian do display correctly in the XML that I feed into catalog manager as I can open it up in my XML editor and see the correct character descriptions in Polish and German. However in catalog manager I get “ ” for each character it does not recognise in the character string description. Does anyone know if I need a character plug-in for catalog manager or is there something else I am missing Thanks Dom Dom, Is th ...Show All
c_shah Powerbuilder IE7 embedded webbrowser control
Our Sybase Powerbuilder application contains an embedded Microsoft Web Browser control, accessing web pages on a local webserver. After installing IE7, dropdown controls within embedded web pages are no longer selectable. The options appear, but none are clickable. I have stripped the html code to a bare minimum, so it does not appear to be related to this. I have also tried noddy apps in various versions of Powerbuilder with the same results. On a machine with IE6 however, all is fine. Our customers have recently installed IE7 with the same result in the deployed application, and have had to revert to IE6 to resolve the problem. I have seen various issues with the IE7 install affecting VB6 apps, relating to shdocvw.dll a ...Show All

Olivier Cueilliez UPDATING individual products through the Commercer Server adapters
Here is a chronologically reversed conversation between me and Alan F on UPDATING individual products through the Commercer Server adapters. If anyone has any insights please respond.... Alan I tried both your suggestions, 1) Scenario 1 - I updated the lastModifiedDate (I hope this this what you meant by the Timestamp) 2) Scenario 2 – I took out the lastModifiedDate altogether (this did not appear in the ‘new’ message and the ‘update’ message) Note: the lastModifiedDate here is the //OrderGroupCollection/Catalog/@lastModifiedDate . Import mode is already "Incremental". … however I still get - Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_FolicaBase_CatalogH'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.FolicaBase ...Show All
