Latso Getting the Tracking Number From Commerce in the basket
Hello, Is it possible to get a TrackingNumber from commerce before I create an order I want to avoid to create my own Tracking Number system. The API doesn't seem to expose methods to grab the next Tracking Number and I couldn't find a stored procedure. I traced the calls to the DB and it seems to be calling the IdentityCounter table from internally. Thanks, Patrick Vinayak, Fantastic, thanks! I'll add that to our build and share it with the team. Cheers, Colin Hey Patrick, You can assign the tracking number yourself before saving it as an order. We ended up doing this because CS2007 allocates 5,000 order numbers for each application instance. Asday What language do you prefer?
Could someone please enlighten me as to what the advantages and disadvantages of the following languages are, in general: C# C++ Visual Basic Also: I read somewhere that C++ was much better for game programming than VB, but why VB is easier to learn and use, so what are the advantages of C++ C# - takes it origins from C++ and uses the .net framework C++ - Platform independant. You can write a C++ app for anything VisualBasic - Easier to understand for new programmers C++ is much better for game programming as it is platform independant for one, another reson is C++ is a true OO (Object Orientated) Programming language and VB isnt so much VB is easier to learn and use and thats why it was invented. forrestcupp Protocol Handler: Open items from WDS Search Deskbar
Hello, I have a working WDS PH prototype. My SearchProtocol Class implements IShellFolder and IPersistFolder. Thus the WDS explorer window displayes my own icon (IExtractIcon) and i can open items (IContextMenu). But how can I interfere in the WDS deskbar quick results It seams that the IShellFolder.GetUIObjectOf is not called here. How does it work Thank for any help! Martin Ah, I thought that was probably the case. Unfortunately, WDS doesn't currently support opening items via 3rd party protocol handlers from the quick search window generated by the toolbar. We've run into this problem with a few of our own protocol handlers and are hoping to resolve it with a future release. For now, items ...Show All
Booge914 Calculate Tax based on Product Information
I have come across a situation that presents me with 2 problems. 1. In the state we work, some items are not taxable (Clothing, for example) while other tiems are (Household, for example). We need to be able to identify which category (not necessarily Catalog Category) the items in the LineItem belong to. At first my thoughts were to add a custom property in the Catalog Manager (IsTaxable) and i would be able to find this property inside the pipeline. Form there on it would be fairly easy to accomplish. 2. I can live with the solution above, if i could find a way to get access to the product information, which i cant. Anyone has any ideas on how to get this data OrderForm.LineItems does not provide access to actual Product Info; ...Show All
Raulsassaa Can I develop a Vista WDS protocol handler in .Net c#?
I found a sample protocol handler developed in c# in the Sharepoint Utility Suite v2.5. However, I also saw a comment in the MSDN docs that said protocol handlers must be written in C++ since the process that CoCreates the handler cannot host multiple instances of the CLR, which would be a problem if different handlers require different versions of the .Net framework. I am developing a protocol handler for Vista WDS and would prefer to code in c#. This sample shows that it is apparently ok to do this with Sharepoint, but I don't know if this is the case for Vista. Can anyone shed some light on this for me Thanks, David davidjmsdn wrote: I found a sample protocol handler developed in c# in the Sharepoint Utili ...Show All

If you search for a contact using the deskbar and the contact does not have a first or last name (as is common for something like an airline). The record will still be listed in the popup list, but it will be blank. The search results should show the company name if there is no first or last name. It would also be really nice to implement tool tips on this entries so that you could mouse over a name and see the phone number. tcrussell, Thanks for reporting this issue. Hello. I'm running Office 2007 Beta 2 technical refresh, which prompted me to install Windows Desktop search to use the find feature in Outlook. to it's credit, the new search feature in Outlook is fantastic - I can't imagine running without it. However, WDS Has placed a magnyfying glass icon in the task area, which I cannot find a way to remove. I recently took the genuine advantage team to task for a similer problem (http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx PostID=569249&SiteID=25): Task area real estate is a precious thing, even with Windows XP's ability to hide inactive icons.
