  • arashikage IE 7 opening to Run Once page with error on it.

I downloaded updates last week. I have been using IE7 for a while with no problem. I dwnloaded the updates. Now when I open my browser the page tries to go to http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx . There is an error reported for this page and it will not open up I get a blue screen. How do I eliminate this I have my home page set in the tools section but when opening it won't go to my home page until I hit the home button on the tool bar. Same exact error for me. I am also getting this same error - its just very annoying now I tried running IE7 with out add-ons. The run once page did not come up to open at all. The browser did not go to anything except a page that said that the add-ons we ...Show All

  • Scott Boyd A good Commmercial

A question on C/net, “What will you say when you see the new Windows Vista ” It just popped into my head all at once and I laughed so hard tears fell in my hilarity. c "A fabulous slogan for his New Windows Vista." This is the image and thought which popped in my head. A man standing there with a computer case lopsided on his head and him looking out the slot where the cd player is. The slot is larger. You can see his eyes. He is dressed in leather. There is a patch over the left corner of the computer case, an eye patch, a big one, a square one. It has 2 black shoe stringy strings on it and wrapped around the computer box. The computer boxes’ lights are blinking on and off. The case is w ...Show All

  • aria8 Base/virtual catalogs and related products

Hi all, I am attempting to determine the best way to set up base and virtual catalogs and I'm having some confusion on how the related products are being handled. We have a base catalog containing all of our available products. Originally we also had our related products defined there, but when we went to add products to a virtual catalog, it used the related products from the base... but didn't allow you to remove the relationship in the virtual catalog (which we might need to do if a related product isn't contained in this catalog). Soooo... because of this, does that mean related products are typically defined in the virtual catalog instead What if you want to create a virtual catalog that is a subset of another virtual catalog You w ...Show All

  • Fran431916 Where does IE store favicons?

I know that IE saves favicons on the computer somewhere, but I can't figure out where. They are in the Internet Cache (Temporary Internet Files) directory where other cache files are. IE downloads them the same way it downloads web pages. Thanks! They all have the same name, is it possible to differentiate between them programmatically I really need to figure out how to use APIs. Thanks, I'll try to figure out the rest from there. IE tries to get the favicon from the Link URL named shortcut icon in the page you are visiting, for ex <link rel="shortcut icon" href= http://www.foo.com/favicon.ico type="image ...Show All

  • Aneesh P Problem Indexing E-mails with WDS 3.0 Beta 2

I have upgraded WDS to Product Version 6.0.5486.108 {3.0 Beta 2 for Windows XP (KB917013)}. It seems to be indexing my files and running well but none of my e-mails are included. I have Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8036) SP2. As an experiment I have installed Google Desktop Search. It has no problem picking up all the e-mail messages on my HDD in the *.pst files. WDS does not index them at all. Just to give you an idea (of the magnitude of the problem) -- Google Desktop Search identifies more than 100,000 files on my HDD when indexing is complete; WDS only finds ~ 26,000! The difference is the missing e-mails. What is the 'trick' Just to add to my confusion Windows Desktop Search is not listed when I open Settings/Control Panel/Add or Remove P ...Show All

  • Mateusz Rajca Instant Messages

Just started using Desktop Search. It is done indexing, but it does not show any instant message conversations on my computer. I know that I have saved many conversations in the .txt default format when selecting File/Save As from the IM window. Am I confused as to what Desktop Search is trying to find in order to report back instant message conversations If anyone is getting results for instant messages, please let me know what file type those results are or what I need to do to be able to save and search for this correctly. Thanks! PMobley, Most IM conversations are saved as .xml files so WDS looks for these types of files when searching for IM conversations. If you leave your search as everything a ...Show All

  • mistro.g Zune and the iPod

I've been following the Zune announcements fairly closely here at work. If you follow my blog, you'll see that I'm pretty passionate about media technologies, and recently went through the pain of migrating away from iPod/iTunes and onto Yahoo Music/Gigabeat S (Portable Media Center). Here the blog category where I talk about it: http://blogs.msdn.com/joemorel/archive/category/13772.aspx Now Zune is in the mix. It looks pretty neat, but I'm not sure if people are really going to go for the whole WiFi thing. I'm just not sure that I want to listen to the same music as the person sitting next to me on the bus. What do you think Will the Zune be avaiable in Canada or only in US . Because on IGN it says Zune's will be sold at ...Show All

  • TaiChiMaster IE 6/7 crashing with ActiveX event callback to javascript

Hi all, I am currently working on a web-based application that mimics our non-web-based application and have come acrosss a stumbling block. The application requires an icon in the system tray that, when clicked, changes the content in the main application. I've been (attempting to) write an Active-X control (using ATL) that places an icon in the system tray, which when clicked, changes the URL of the current page in the web app. I've created a top-level frameset, which contains two frames (one to hold the invisible Active-X control (A) and the other containing the application content (B)). What I'm trying to do is, when the icon is clicked in the system tray, changes the URL in frame B to a 'home' page. I originally attempted this using e ...Show All

  • Michal Konecny Detect Browser Refresh

I'm developing a BHO in VB.Net . My main problem of the day is handling Refresh in IE after a web site has been loaded. My BHO responds to setsite/getsite. It is able to get all IE events, and use IE methods and properties. After getting help from examples on the internet, it is able to hook up and get DOM events from the loaded page. It can even set a timer in IE, and create a DIV in the DOM. But it is a bit unclear how to detect refresh, and more important, how to detect refresh is done. This is important because I need to reestablish the DOM event handlers. Do you have an answer for how to detect refresh start and refresh done - document complete Please, I've been through all the simple answers, like detect download complete ...Show All

  • dseifert Writing a BHO in Java / JavaScript / C++

Hi everyone. It's pretty clear that a BHO (Browser Helper Object) can be written using C++/ATL, but I was wondering: 1) Can a BHO be written entirely in Javascript (if yes, can you recommend links to examples or docs ) 2) Can a BHO be written (mostly) in Java What I mean is, even if a little C++/ATL "glue" is required, could most of a BHO be written in Java The MSDN docs are focused on languages that Microsoft prefers, and I cannot find any references to extensions / plug-ins / add-ons / add-ins / BHOs written in Java. Note that I am specifically interested in a BHO, meaning code which the user installs into the browser as an Add-On/Extension, and which can run as each web page is loaded. I'm not talking about an ActiveX ...Show All

  • Marius F Enormous number of items to scan

My indexing status shows 25,000,000 items left to scan and 19,000 indexed so far. I have chosen to index Outlook and My Documents (nothing unusually large about either). Is there a way to troubleshoot this to find the version number you can check in Add remove programs. It should be listed there. I've resolved the issue by uninstalling WDS. I found that the disk queue length was permanently high until I stopped searchindexer.exe. What is irritating is that I now cannot search in Outlook, nor can I load Lookout anymore in Outlook 2007. Maddening. are you still having this issue Any word on the version cheers, Ed ...Show All
