  • Mongsreturn I can't believe most Windows users don't know how to use toolbars, OMG.

This is most irritating. Almost all of Windows users in my company don't know how toolbar works. They don't know they can enable toolbar, take out toolbar, customize toolbar, and not even the simplest of all, move toolbar around. Toolbar is so simple, standard, and flexible. And yet, they don't know how to use it. And now, I think that's the main reason why IE7 doesn't support moveable toolbar, and that pisses me off even more. Argh. Sigh, sometimes you think one thing is so trivial should be easy enough for users to use. Sometimes you think it is a standard, but a lot of poeple still don't know how to use it. Just like the Bigger Triangle Button for play, I still see people ask this dumb question, &q ...Show All

  • ooboyle Vista/IE7 spawns new windows when Office 2007 is installed (unlike Office XP)

I have an application written in VB6 which uses the webbrowser control to render MS-Office (and other) documents. I have migrated that application to Vista and VB2005 but am running into a problem in that it appears that when Office 2007 is installed, Office docs will no longer embed and render in the webbrowser control (this is probably true of the IE6 version also but haven't tested). Instead, the webbrowser.navigate method spawns a new instance of the appropriate viewer application (e.g., MS-Word 2007). This problem did not appear until I upgraded Office XP to Office 2007.  Other file types like Adobe PDF continue to embed and render in the browser, as before. Since the functionality and value of this application ...Show All

  • aditi shah invoking download dialog box upon clicking on a link

Hi, I am preparing one html file which contains link to trx files (test results file generated by VSTT). These trx files are present on a local share. When I click on the link I want either to open the file in the devenv or pop up the dialog box to download the file. Currently file is getting opened in IE only as a XML file which I don't want. I am more interested in first option: "That is by default file gets opened in devenv after user clicked on the link." How can I do it -Aaryan Hi Aaryan, It sounds like the format is XML so IE will recognise that mimetype and try to open it as XML. If you register the filename extension for .trx for devenv to open then it should use that app ...Show All

  • Lili Gao Zune and the iPod

I've been following the Zune announcements fairly closely here at work. If you follow my blog, you'll see that I'm pretty passionate about media technologies, and recently went through the pain of migrating away from iPod/iTunes and onto Yahoo Music/Gigabeat S (Portable Media Center). Here the blog category where I talk about it: http://blogs.msdn.com/joemorel/archive/category/13772.aspx Now Zune is in the mix. It looks pretty neat, but I'm not sure if people are really going to go for the whole WiFi thing. I'm just not sure that I want to listen to the same music as the person sitting next to me on the bus. What do you think Not that it answers the question of availability, but there are EB Games and Gamestops in the US.& ...Show All

  • Ted. access to details of HTTP error messages?

Regarding Un-Friendly Error Messages, Microsoft's Knowledge Base article KB218155 says: *** KB218155 *** In IE5 or later, http error messages are stored as a resource of the Shdoclc.dll file. • imj IFrames don't always work in IE6

Hi all! I have a pretty strange problem with Iframes in IE6. The page that is having the problem is this one: http://www2.morsoe.com/dk/Garanti/Garantiregistrering/ The page is used for registering the customers products with the manufactor. The page is maintained in MCMS and the registration-form itself is retrieved from http://morsoegaranti.gr3.dk/frontend/default.aspx in an Iframe. That also worked fine, but it seems that it is causing problems now. The Iframe won't load - you have to right-click and select "update" on the iframe to get it to work. But if I copy-paste the IFrame into a new blank HTML-document, it works fine - everytime. Anyone know what is causing this When the site was launched in spr ...Show All
