• IndianScorpion Zune and the iPod

  I've been following the Zune announcements fairly closely here at work. If you follow my blog, you'll see that I'm pretty passionate about media technologies, and recently went through the pain of migrating away from iPod/iTunes and onto Yahoo Music/Gigabeat S (Portable Media Center). • DaniP WDS 3.0 Beta 2 Desktop Search Box crash

  So I tried to turn off the Go button in the UI, and it promptly crashed and vanished. I haven't logged off and on to see if it will come back, but I don't see it listed in my Toolbars menu as something I can restart. There certainly needs to be someplace I can show/hide the search box besides the search box itself. There should be a control panel applet or something for all the search deskbar options. As for hiding the search box, you can do so by right clicking in the deskbar, selecting Toolbars and then selecting or deselecting the Windows Search Deskbar.   Hi, I've made a toolbar using the BandObjects article on Code Project : http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/BandObjects20.asp select=1819328&df=100&forumid=306921&exp=0 Unfortunately, the only way I have found of having theme styles activated is to supply an iexplore.exe.manifest in IE installation folder, which is not ideal for deployment... The google toolbar and other toolbars do have the XP style, without any manifest in IE folder! • Tryin2Bgood IE7 and missing WebView in Namespace Extension

  Hello I have programmed a Namespace Extension with a custom Folder Html View over HTT file. This is done with reg key ExtShellFolderViews for Persist Moniker. But after installing IE7 windows doesn't shows the Web View of my Namespace any more Can you help, do you know about some Reg Keys or something else for the security The old registry keys for the IE6 that allow showing the WebView are still the same: AllowUnhashedWebView,AllowLegacyWebView and RevertWebViewSecurity but IE7 shows only the file list and not the Web View. • MaggieChan IE7 and desktop icons

  I just installed Internet Explorer 7 today, which I guess is a.k.a. Windows Live . All of my fancy customized shortcuts on the desktop disappeared and each got replaced by the same generic windows icon. Right-clicking & changing the icons in properties no longer works. Also, when I create an internet shortcut while browsing, that creates a shortcut with that same generic icon (not even an explorer logo). Now my desktop is just one forest of identical icons. Anyone know how I can fix this I've wasted all day without success.   Is it possible to change the default search provider according to the web site the user visits. For example, if I make a provider available for test.com, I want this to be the default provider whenever someone visits test.com, otherwise by default the user searches the currently selected provider, then they have to select my provider.   Using SQL 2000 on both servers I have succesfully installed reports on standalone server. Need to test installation on separate SQL(CS2007 tables) and SQL(dw table and dw cubes) Analysis server. In the test env I do not have the servers in same domain, they are single servers in same workgroup, same accounts and passwords. Install using integrated windows accounts. First step works great creating the dw database on second server. But second step fails with File Not Found. • JonPetitta Overriding Maximum display values on ads / discounts

  Hi, I would like to be able to configure adverts which can be displayed more than 10 times - specifically I would like to configure an advert (or discount) which can be displayed for an unlimited number of occasions - currently I cannot see any other option than to select from 1-10 views in the marketing manager. I would still like to be able to configure some adverts for a fixed number of views. If anyone has any ideas / suggestions it would be very much appreciated. • rob warning I can't modify search locations to include Network Drives

  Hi, Newbie question alert! I'm looking to include some networked drives in the indexing so that I can search them, but they aren't appearing in the "Indexed Locations" dialog box (Indexing Options and click on modify). It only shows my 2 hard drives, Outlook and Outlook Express. I've 14 drives mapped ok, according to My Computer! • Bulldog.NET C:\ explorer opened when click 'search' button in deskbar

  Hi, I am using WDS 3.0 RTW, when i want to search something, i will click the 'search' button in deskbar. Normally a explorer with title 'Windows Desktop Search Results' will popup for searching, but sometimes a explorer with title 'C:\' appeared instead (where c:\ is my WinXP installation drive). • Dhil Indexing a mapped network drive for WDS 3.0

  I have recetly installed WDS 3.0 over WDS 2.6.5. I cannot select a network drive to index in the "change selected locations" menu under options. I have also mapped a network drive, and I still cannot select it under the "change selected locations" menu under options to index it. How do I select a folder or a network drive to add to folders to be indexed I have the same issue as above. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3.0, but the UNC add-in, plus re-added all the shared drives. I have purposefully put a "test" document in all my pst folders and all my shared drives so i can easily see what is and what is not being indexed. All my pst folders are indexed.   What I'd love to see is a C# BHO 1) adding a menu item to the default context menu and 2) capturing the event when the user clicks on that item. I've created a custom UI handler object, and it sinks the ShowContextMenu event fine. I can load shdoclc.dll, where the default menu is kept. Great. The problem I'm facing now is that I cannot load the default menu using User32's LoadMenu function. The last error I get is that the function cannot locate the resource I'm trying to load.
