a3b2c1r46 First PocketPC application. Comments?
I have just completed my first PocketPC application, written in VB 2005, CF 1.0. It is a freeware calculator to help doctors manage their patients with decreased heart function (Heart failure). Since only I have tested it, I have released it as a beta, version 0.95. This version expires April 1, 2007. The web page is here. It comes as an msi installer. In addition to any comments about the software, installer, or instructions, I would be interested in knowing where to post this software. The Palm, Windows, and Mac version are posted on www.versiontracker.com , and get lots of hits, but I do not know what a similar PocketPC site would be. Thanks! Great..! Congratulations on your first soft ...Show All
Duckboy Windows Desktop Search - Network Drive
I am looking to use Windows Desktop Search v2.6.5 to index files in a mapped network drive. (G:\files) they are only word documents and I have about 20 workstations that I wish to index the same files. I am getting "locked file" errors when I try to open, edit then save a document. The document can only be "saved as." Is there a work around or are there specific changes that need to be made to desktop search Mark, We've investigated this problem further, but have been unable to replicate the issue. We have, however, seen a number of issues with MS Word failing to delete temp files out of network shares - creating the same symptoms you are seeing. Can you detect exactly what prog ...Show All

Randal Greene Script error invalid character using the WebBrowser control
One of our applications was broken after installing IE7. We narrowed the problem down to the below: WebBrowser browser = new WebBrowser(); browser.DocumentText = "<script src=\"file://c:\test\foo.js\"></script><p>test</p>"; This code works fine under IE6, but when running on IE7 you get the error: Line: 2 Char:1 Error: Invalid Character Code: 0 URL: about:blank It doesn't matter what is in the foo.js file, it can be completely blank and you will get the error. If you replace the file://c:\test\foo.js with a valid http URL (Internet zone), it works fine. If you create a file with the contents and load it into the control using browser.Navigate() it also loads fine. So it seems related to ...Show All
IreneSmith transfer & file settings problem
Hi, I had a problem with my PC and I basically had to reformat and then reinstall xp and the other pre-installed software. I used the files and transfer settings wizard to copy my stuff onto the desktop. I then burnt the dat files onto 3 dvds ready to transfer after the computer was reformatted etc. Anyway, the reformat and reinstallation was all smooth. I opened up the transfer files & settings to copy the old stuff to my new pc. However it keeps coming up with the following: "The location you specified does not contain stored information. Please type a valid path into the edit box. If you entered a path to a folder on a removable disk, the disk must be in the drive." I have tried copying the files into the U ...Show All

Speeding Target Expanding the RegionCodes table
Hi I am trying to expand the RegionCodes table to include a tax rate. The problem I have is that even in the underlying DataRow properties of the RegionCodeDataSet.StateCodesRow class my new column is not being retrieved. I have tried looking for a stored procedure that retrieves from the RegionCodes table but there isn't one in the transactionconfig database. Could somebody tell me firstly whether it is possible to expand this table, and providing it is possible how the data is retrieved Regards Paul Tew The dataset exposed for the regioncodes table does not take the extensibility into account. You should write your own code to access the new columns. P ...Show All

rbnijp Documentation for BHOs and Toolbars
I have a BHO and custom toolbar that works with IE6. Where can I find developer documentation for converting these to work with IE7 Has the IE7 developer documentation been released Is there a BHO upgrade (IE6 to IE7) guide Thanks, Frank one window != one loaded document each frame and iframe is also a document I consider a lack of documentation on developing for IE7 to be a specific issue. Neither the 'it should work like it did' nor 'suck and see' approach really encourage developers. The lack of substantial information and code examples for developers on the IEAddon site is also extremely disappointing. I have to be honest, as much as I'm ...Show All
Cr7pt0r using a scanner with Ie.
I have a rather complex little problem facing me. The company I work for implements a CRM application that is purely a web application. User logs into an ASP or ASP.NET 2.0 site.(we have two versions of our application) User clicks a button on an IE toolbar and a dialog is displayed that prompts them to insert the license into a scanner. Clicking through this dialog makes a call to the Card Scanning Solutions license scanning SDK which is registered as a COM object on the user's system. PARVAIZ Payment Gateway Pipeline Integration
Hi all, I am a beginner in CS 2007 doing my first CS 2007 project. We as a team are working to customise the CS 2007 Starter Site according to the business needs and to use it to launch as an ecommerce website. I have read the MSDN for pipeline and using the existing pipeline for payments provided in CS2007 Starter Site, it does not look viable to use it as it is for payments. Some blogs and discussions also redirect to the fact that one has to write their own pipeline for payments and integrate with their payment gateway service provider. Keeping in mind the deadline which has been given the 1st Dec 2006, we as a team don't think it would be possible. There couple of options that I have thought of Option 1 Removing the control ...Show All
