progfg Can't get Statement completion to work
I've been trying for the life of me to get statement completion to work. So far I can get the method tip to show up showing the parameters for the method. It will bold the first parameter in the method. But I can't get it to bold the 2nd, 3rd etc. as you go along. My "Methods" implmentation is returning "(" for OpenBracket, ")" for CloseBracket, and "," for Delimiter. I thought I had done this previously when playing around with VSIP for 2003, but can't seem to get it to work in 2005. Do I need to be doing something with the "ref int state" that is being passed into the "ScanTokenAndProvideInfoAboutIt()" method Here is my code from the IScanner interface that I have impl ...Show All
mkb137b UNC path of a local folder on Server??
I have installed VSS 2005 on a WinXP Pro box (Server). I created a database at C:\VSS. I open SSAdmin, Server > Configure > Enable SourceSafe Internet for this database. It says, open the DB in UNC path. The folder is shared as "VSS". It is not accepting the "VSS" string in the create new database wizard. It says, its not a valid UNC path. What do I need to give the UNC of a folder which is in the local file system of Server and shared as "VSS" I tried "<computername>\VSS".. its not working because the server is looking for the computer on the network while its the name of the server itself. Sorry if I am dumb, but I couldn't find any documentation on this. TiA. I am trying to access this VSS folder from ...Show All
RamyaP System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80041004): Not enough memory for operation.
Hi there, I have CS2003 and Crystal Reports XI R2 standard edition installed on my machine. Before CR XI installed, my application and reports worked fine. For some reason, I installed Crystal Reports XI R2 standard edition. I am not able to edit the report through VS, I have to change the existing reports through CR XI, luckly, my application still can load those reports if only with a little change. However, I wanna change all referenced CR assemblies in my project from 9.1.5000.0 to 11.5.3300.0 so that I do not have to worry loading problem with some new reports . But it did not work to me, the error message is: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80041004): Not enough memory for operation Can anyone tell me how to m ...Show All
Duane Douglas Invalid Dos Path error when trying to run Analyze
Hello all, I'm getting an Invalid Dos Path errror when trying to run Analyze on a SourceSafe database located on a server drive. The one clue is the acutal error (see below): Visual SourceSafe Analyze Version 8.0 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Invalid DOS path: \\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe\\\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe" Obviously the path is bad as it appears to be "doubled-up" as you can see. I just can't find out why this is going on. I've checked the obvious solutions like the srcsafe.ini file and the paths are fine here (i.e. no double-entries just \\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe for the source path). So where is this path being created and or read I'm running analyze from a workstation, ...Show All
Mahyar154572 Tearing in WPF
I am seeing a lot of tearing in an animated WFP project. It also occurs in Expression Interactive Designer June CTP version. Running 3.0 June CTP on XP. Often the tearing seems to get "locked in" resulting in garbage on the screen. This can be redrawn by minimising and restoring the Window. Should I be concerned or is this being worked on Thanks, John I have similar issues, and I have filed in a bug about it. You can vote for it or add comments here: https://connect.microsoft.com/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx FeedbackID=180703&SiteID=212 I personally haven't done a lot with animation in WPF but have read about a similar issue to what you're encount ...Show All
h1 Error 403 when browsing to Service.svc file
I am trying to run one of the wcf samples. I am deploying the server to IIS 6 and keep getting Http Error 403 Forbidden when I try to browse to the service.svc file. The directory and files appear to have the right permissions set. I added a Default.aspx page to the same directory and it works fine. I changed to Basic authentication and the Service.svc file returns the 403 error before I am even prompted to login. The Default.aspx page prompts me to login and then displays correctly. I had the sample working fine on my Windows XP workstation it just won't run on Windows Server 2003. Does anyone know what else I can check to get this working Thanks, Matthew This error still exists after you ru ...Show All
BortNE24 Properties set on project do not influence import conditions
Hello! Properties set on project (programmatically) do not influence import conditions. I execute a project from within code: Engine.GlobalEngine.BinPath = RuntimeEnvironment.GetRuntimeDirectory(); Engine.GlobalEngine.OnlyLogCriticalEvents = false; Project proj = new Project(Engine.GlobalEngine); proj.Load(e.Value); AddSavedStateAsProperties(proj); // <-- this props using AddPropertyGroup, etc proj.Build(targetName); If the project has imports with conditions - and those conditions test properties that are loaded in the AddSavedStateAsProperties method - the imports conditions fail. I have tried moving the load to after the AddSavedStateAsProperties call but that doesnt help. Any clues as to why th ...Show All

Slugger25 SVCUtil.exe
Hi All, I am working in WCF. Here my questio is, is it neccessary that to have Winfx SDK installed on the machine to use the SVCUtil.exe Next question, is there any advantage of using SVCUtil.exe instead of Add service reference Regards, Santha The SDK consists of tools and samples. You can choose not to install the samples, but the tools like svcutil are not included in the runtime bits. Where does svcutil exist on your machine and do you know how you got it on there >> Winfx SDK installed on the machine to use the SVCUtil.exe Yes. drew_p Overlapping elements over a FlowDocument
Hi, I have a FlowDocument with sections, paragraphs, lines, etc. My target is (for example) to draw two lines in order to create a cross over the page (from angle to angle) so that the lines overlaps the entire page content. Another example is to overlap a big text like "Confidential" over (or behind) the content page. I tired using floaters but they need to be inside an inline, so they take space and modify the flow of the page. I want to overlap those elements without changing the normal flow instead. Thanks, Raffaele In particular, I would look at what it would take to instantiate a highlight annotation in XAML; give it a brush that basically contains your watermark; and attach it to a document, paragraph or ...Show All

ron nash Visual Studio .NET 2005 slows down while loading and building on Intel Core 2 Duo
Hi, I've got a new Dell Inspiron 9400 system running with intel core 2 duo and a clean installation of Visual Studio 2005, and everything seems to be okay except when i try to load a visual studio solution, and start debugging it. When it starts building the solution (by pressing F5), the build process runs fine, but it is when the embedded web server starts that the whole ide freezes for about 2 or 3 mins. The same happens when I close the navigator (IE6) and visual studio autommatically tries to stop debugging. It just freezes a long time, and I also tried downloading Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 but the same behavior after this. My complete system specifications are the following: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (@2 GHz) 1GB ...Show All
