  • badegine setup.exe "not a valid win32 application" - SOLUTION

I'm trying to install visual studio on desktop with an AMD64 processor (but using 32-bit XP Pro), and when I try to install Visual Studio 2005, I get a "not a valid win32 application" in a dialog box. I get the error "D:\ is not a valid win32 application" when I try to use autoplay, and "D:\setup.exe is not a valid win32 application" when I try to run setup directly from the disc. Any ideas I have an HP Pavilion zd7000 laptop and VS2005 will not install. I get the same "setup.exe is not a valid win32 program" error.   Anyone getting any info from MS and posting would be greatly appreciated. When I opened the installed programs i ...Show All

Jdang Hi Jdang, Have you looked at this sample on MSDN http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms751463.aspx It shows how to enable streaming to send and receive files. • mclagett xsltransform should give better error messages

It can be quite pain full to locate the error coursed during an xsltransform I would like to see more location information when this happens i.e. file and line number or if the xml parser can not give line numbers then the signature of the template or global variable in which the error happened (value of name, mode and match attributes) It would also be nice if the xslTransform had an option for include debuginfo so one could use visual studios xslt debuggin capability with just in time debugging For the most part the XSLT parser does given decent and complete error information and even includes properties that designate which line and column the error occurred at. • Little The memory could not be "written".

I'm running VC++ 2003 and have a problem when closing the console. When clicking the X in the upper right, I get this message: The instruction at "0x79442e83" referenced memory at "0x31041660", The memory could not be "written". I have two opengl windows open and wish to close the whole program. When I close the opengl windows first and then close the console I don't get the message. I'd expect it is in the opengl code but don't know how to locate where the instruction is and in what memory location it is referring to. The above hex numbers represent those location but they must be from some base as looking at a map I can't locate either. How do I proceed trying to find those locations wit ...Show All

  • Tom Janssen Retrieving Project's $(OutDir) from an VS Automation Macro

Hi, I'm writing a VB Macro for automating the build process of a VS solution. From that macro, how do I retrieve the value of the $(OutDir) property for a C# project, as it is referenced from the Pre-Build and Post-Build events Also, I need the output directory value for a Setup project. Thanks! The following code retrieves $(OutDir) for current configuration (debug/release) of C# project. The prj variable points to desired project. For example: Dim prj As EnvDTE.Project prj = DTE.ActiveDocument.ProjectItem.ContainingProject Then the code is: Dim path As String path = prj.ConfigurationManager.ActiveConfiguration.Properties.Item("OutputPath").Value If you want the values for other configu ...Show All

  • M Anwar Error "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object"

I'm trying to use the ReportViewer control (in remote mode) in a winform app. Everything works great until I try and change the ReportPath of the control (in response to a TreevIew after select event ) when the currently visible report is a report that has been drilled into from the original report specified in ReportPath e.g. ReportViewer rv = new ReportViewer(); /* other code */ rv.ServerReport.ReportPath = "/Report1"; rv.RefreshReport(); User then clicks on a link in Report 1 that jumps to Report 2 (still within the same control). Now if you try and set the ReportPath to anything you get an "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object" being thrown by the internal set_ReportPath method. As ...Show All

  • dbcuser Suggestion: Role-based styling

So far, so great.  WPF is really coming along wonderfully and I can't wait for it to pick up traction in the industry.  There is one thing that I would love to see in WPF, in a future release... Right now styling an app requires you to either specify an element's Style by key or have a style which applies to all instances of a specific type (or you can use inline styles).  This is all fine and good, but it does not lend itself well to creating "skinnable" apps, where with the change of one global setting the entire app uses a new theme.  Currently one could respond to the "skin-swap" by explicitly altering the Style of every element.  Obviously that is time consuming and error prone.  Alternatively one c ...Show All

  • Juan Dent Remove Contextual tab

Hi !! How can i remove contextual tab in the ribbon in Word 2007 Example : when the selection is in a table the contextual tab "TableTools" with Design & Layout appears in the ribbon. Best regards If you want it hidden at all times, you can hide it by using XML like this: <tab idMso="asdfasdf" visible="false"/> (sorry I cannot recall the id for the Table Tools tab). If you want it to be selectively hidden based on more refined logic on the fly, I believe you can do this by calling the InvalidateControl method on the IRibbonUI interface. This is the only way that Office knows to re-init the Ribbon. HTH, John Ok i've found & ...Show All

  • MarcoSartore Visual Studio 2005 error - The given path's format is not supported

When I attempt to create a new project in VS2005, I get a dialog box saying "The given path's format is not supported." It's a simple local path on my C: drive, and the folder DOES exist. I browse to a new location, just in case, and get the same error. When I attempt to create just a new file, I get "The operation could not be completed. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." Just to be pedantic, I'd like to note, I believe that last comma is grammatically incorrect ... I believe that line should read, "The operation could not be completed. The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect." • Alessandro Camargo Execute target when (core)compile will execute

Hello, there must be a simple solution for this silly question, yet I cannot find it. I want to execute a target before compilation only when compilation will occur, i e when corecompile has been determined to execute (ie dependencies have been updated) then I want my target to execute before compilation. If corecompile does not run, I do not want my target to run either. So, is there a hook before corecompile is run after it has been determined that it will run Or is there a simple property that expresses the inputs / outputs used so that I can use the same dependencies /mawi As you say, that will in many situations be a problem, since the build process will then involve editing files in the framework ...Show All

  • Catalin Zima Recommended books on WCF

I have recently read Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation Hands on (Sams) by Craig McMurtry, Marc Mercuri and Nigel Watling. Unfortunately, this book documents WCF as it is in the beta edition. Some of the examples in the book is therefore not working as they should, since .NET 3.0 now is released. I have found updates on the examples after the CTP update. But there are still differences. So what I am looking for now is good books, alternavly good resources on the Internet for studying WCF in .NET 3.0. Thank you. Ok, thx for your opinions. I will check out Michele's book. There are a couple of books scheduled for next year about WCF according to Amazon . Hi Me ...Show All
