When will ECMA finish the 4 standard Does anyone have a reasonable guess. It's been a long time since 1999's release of 3 and it looks like an acceptable version was available about 5 years ago. Visual C# How to read from a text file?
I want to read the words from a file and store the words in a 2D array. The first word in store in the first row of the array.the second word in second row..etc.. How can I do that Thank you but that's a little too complex for me. Accturally, what I want is read the words from a file and sort them in a dictionary-like order. Ex: "apple" locate before "orange". I dont know if im being stupid, im new to C but im not inexperienced at languages. Any way i just finished installing the XNA (Wooo) and i open the Spacewar starte kit as a new project. Windows Live Developer Forums Virtual Earth is so slow!
Am I crazy, or is VE tremendously slower than it's competitor, Google Local As a Microsoft developer I am all for evangelizing the Live platform. However every time I tell people about the cool features in Virtual Earth, they all inevitably come back saying they were frustrated with the very slow performance and preferred to keep using Google Local. Is anyone else finding this Well, some of what you're saying might be true (about the caching). However, isn't it the job of the VE team to make sure the application's user experience is as good (or better) than the competition I told some friends of mine to mind their browser's settings for caching and, though it made some difference in perceptions, ...Show All

Hi, I have to implement '#include "AcroUtils2.h' in my C# program. As i am calling the acrobat sdk of which functions are written using header files. Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. LoadGraphicsContent - Is it right to load ALL graphics content at the start
Hi everyone, I'm just starting with XNA GSE and working on my first game. One thing that is puzzling me though is the LoadGraphicsContent. It seems in all the tutorials I've seen that everyone loads every single graphics resource inside this one function. This seems wrong to me for two reasons, the first is that surely this isn't the most memory friendly way of doing things. What if I have ten levels on a game all with different graphics, I only need one levels worth of graphics to be loaded at any one time so I don't want to hold the other nine levels graphics in memory. The second reason is that if there are a lot of graphics resources this function is going to get very large, I would have thought it would be better to load the content ...Show All
Visual C++ Png does not display properly in GDI+
Couldsomeone tell me why thispng (http://users.ox.ac.uk/~chri1957/bos.png) will not display correctly using GDI+ It only shows one pixel in the top left corner for me. It displays correctly in all other graphics programs on my PC, including Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (which I assume uses GDI+). Any help appreciated. after copying about 16'383 files you must re-boot Vista, because Vista Explorer begins making nonsense. Try it that way: make a new directory somewhere on your harddisk open Notepad and immediatley save in your new directory (the Notpad .txt file can be empty or not) select that saved Notepad .txt file with Vista Explorer do exactly the following 16 times - it will take longer and loger any time of course (up to minutes in the last cycle): ctrl-a ctrl-c ctrl-v (Select all files in the directory, copy them, paste them) === I'm shure you will get a message " ... out of memory ... Hi, I have a question about why it takes two passes to obtain accurate results I created two Unit Tests A single unit test to validate credit cards. I pass in “MasterCard” and it works fine. A single Data Driven unit test to read through an Excel file sequentially for all the credit card types, this too works fine. · Code Coverage After the single unit test, the code coverage is covering “one” card type, perfect. 1st time running the Data Driven test, the code coverage still shows it covering only “one” card type. 2 nd Time running the Data Driven test, the code coverage shows it covering “All” card types. I'm trying to force a class that inherits from a base class that contains a static field to assign a value to this field. I'm not having any luck. For example, say I have a base class "Shape": public class Shape { public static string Description = "A shape"; } and I want to create a class that inherits from shape, but I want the new class to be forced to assign a value to 'Description'. Is this possible I know I can't use abstract or virtual along with static.. The reason for this is that I want to be able, when using reflection, to use the FieldInfo class to return the 'Description' of the inheriting class.
