• Visual Studio Team System Need some information regarding "Mark Method as static"

  hi, i am implementing a singleton pattern in one of my classes. when another class method is using this singleton class instance then FxCop shows me an error to mark this class as static too as i am accessing a static property. if i mark this method as static then any other method which is calling this method also need to be marked as static as per FxCop. can anybody help me out with this problem. Thanks in advance -Rajesh. Rajesh, That's the expected behavior of FxCop. If a method doesn't touch instance state (fields, methods, events, etc), then FxCop will flag the method. • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) CustomControl woes

  I spent all day trying to get a very simple CustomControl working. All I wanted it to do was to display a Button. To do so, I followed the Case Study by Kevin Moore ( http://winfx.msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp url=/library/en-us/wcp_conceptual/html/ecb97ed4-e659-48a4-a1e0-893309569f2f.asp ) wherein he shows how to implement a Color Picker Control.   Hello all, I am in a fix here. I run RS2000 on SQLSERVER2000, IIS6. My dev env is VS2003( .net 1.1). About 2 months back I deployed reports to an intranet site. They worked as expected. All of a sudden I get the folowing error: An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Get Online Help Cannot create a connection to data source 'XXX'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) Get Online Help SQL Server does not exist or access denied. The SQLSERVER exists and is up and running. I use SQL authentication which is fine. • .NET Development Multithreading question

  Hello, I have a small program with a form control and two threads. These two threads are identical with only difference is the first one reads the top part of the SQL table, while the other one reads bottom part. Both use the same DLL (that I include using imports statement) and instantiate the same class within their code areas. Now, I want these two threads to use dll and do the work simultaneously. But, they seem to take turns. (I have a counter on the form for both ). I see that when one starts, the other one stops. When the second starts, the first stops.   hi, I would like to know if its neccessary to have VS2005 installed to use MSSCCI provider to explore source control operations in Visual studio .net 2003 and VS 6.0. Thanks in advance Regards Sundararajan So, just to expand. You need to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Explorer. This is on the Team Foundation Server media. If you don't have Visual Studio 2005 installed on the machine already, then it will install a Visual Studio 2005 shell and install the Team Explorer into it. This will allow you to add / edit work items etc (which you cannot do with the MSSCCI provider alone) Also, Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2003 happily run side by side.   Hi All, I've read a few threads on problems that look similar to my issue, but I can't seem to find a solution. Is there any particular reason a queries should take longer than normal to execute And I don't just mean a couple of seconds... Some times a query can take about 0.01 seconds to execute (which is good) and others it takes 25 seconds to execute (which is bad). This anomaly seems to occur on all websites using the database instance. The only thing I can think of is something to do with the server running as a Windows user as opposed to System.   Hi, I had been using Windows 2000 Server along with MS SQL Server 2000. But now I have formatted my computer and installed Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server Service Pack 1 . Since then, I am not able to install SQL Server 2000 in it. Please suggest which version of SQL Server should I install, and where to download it from. Is it possible to install SQL Server 2000 server module in Windows 2003, since it says only the client module of SQL Server 2000 can be loaded here.   Hi, Since the application depends on the server responses, I have this doubt. What if will happen to the execution of tests, if on recording the server response time is fast and on execution, the server is hanging.
