  • .NET Development XSLT compile error when using XslCompiledTransform.Load indirectly called from unmanaged code.

I have a component I wrote in C#. Among other things it performs a XSLT transform on XML data it collects. When I test this feature using another C# project that uses the component it works just fine. However when I export the component as a COM component and try to use this feature from a unmanaged application it fails on the XslCompiledTransform.Load command with an XSLT compile error. If I take out the template tags then it loads just fine, of course it will not actually do anything then either. Thanks for any help you can provide, Rich Inner exception: {"Overflow or underflow in the arithmetic operation."} Stack Trace: at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.QilGenerator.Compile(Compiler ...Show All

  • Software Development for Windows Vista Get return value from workflow

I've a winform application which would interact with a workflow runtime to perform some approval tasks. When a user reviews the approval request, he can select either approve or reject on the winform application, it will submit to the workflow runtime to process, his action will be validated by the rules defined in workflow and it will return a result of his action (success or fail). I want to know how can I get the result from workflow when the workflow instance is completed. And how can I wait for result from workflow runtime after user submitted the action, because workflow is executed asynchronously with the winform application. Thank you very much! I want to know... how can I notify the winform applic ...Show All

  • .NET Development ConfigurationElement Design Related Discussion

I am currently in the process of writing my own ConfigurationSection and ConfigurationElement (s) for the .config file on a development project. I have read the online documentation and have also used a reflector tool to analyze some of the .NET Framework classes to decide the best possible approach. I am just curious if someone has more experience with this than I, and would be willing to offer some design consultation on one or more of the questions I have. In the documentation it describes a programmatic model vs. a declarative (attributed) model. This statement can be found with the following documentation link for ConfigurationSection – http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.configuration.configurationsectio ...Show All

  • .NET Development Verify printer exists

Does anyone know how to verify a printer exists before attempting to send it a print job I have a printer name (\\<pc>\<printer share name>) and am using the printerdocument class to print the job. There is a System.IO.File.Exists(filename) method that works great for verifying a file exists before access, is there something similiar for a printer ...Show All

  • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) Bound data displaying performance issue

When trying to display a DataTable from the DataSet using ListView/GridView (GridView is generated dynamically and has the same columns as the DataTable) the application is really very slow. DataTable has more than 15 columns and about 15000 rows. I made similar application using WinForms and it is much more faster. WPF promises better performance but it seems to be different. I have tried to define GridColumnDefinitions in XAML instead of doing it at runtime but it did not help. Use of VirtualizingStackPanel.IsVirtualizing="True" hangs the application. How can I fix this issue Thanks in advance. UI Virtualization generally solves this "issue"... According to what you say, the ...Show All

  • Software Development for Windows Vista Workflow runtime hosting questions

We're interested hosting a single workflow runtime to manage all our workflow instances. These workflow instances are mostly human user approval processes that could span days. The primary method GUI for approving/rejecting will be through a web application. If I implement my workflow runtime in a Window Service how difficult would it be to access the runtime instance. Can the workflow runtime be remoted by a web app or web service I have looked at implementing a workflow as a web service but they seem better suited for short-lived sequential workflows. I'm curious how SharePoint v3 implements the workflow runtime. I read that they use a specially tailored web service to broker the workflow runtime calls but I am not sure where the runtim ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Commanding a Click Event

I have a windows form application developed in vb.net 2003. The application uses a mainmenu and contextmenus. I am interested in how to expand one of my mainmenu menuitems by command rather than physically clicking it. For example, if I have a mainmenu control on my form with 5 menuitems: item1, item2, ---,item5 across the top of my form. How can I from a botton click event, command the item2 menu items to automatically expand and show the available submenu items as if I had clicked on item2 on the form Thanks, Thankyou for the quick reply. • Visual Studio Express Editions Making a textbox into an array and reading from each point in the array

I'm trying to build a name generator, that takes a letter from one point in an array, (Which originally comes from a textbox), and changes that letter to some other character. So for instance, if i put the name "Sam" in textbox one and clicked the "Generate" button, the out put, (Which has random keyboard typings of each letter, like S as "Ess" or "$") would go to textbox 2. So basically i want to build a name generator for The "Leet" or "L33t" Language. What i need to know is: 1.How to assign the Data of Textbox1 to a String array 2. How to read from each point in this array and 3. How to set the output to go to a certain point in an array for textbox2. Any help would be greatly ...Show All

  • Visual C# How do I generate help files for my dll?

I am writing a class library in C# to provide an API to my product. How do I generate help files to publish in the documentation I provide in an SDK Is there some automated tool that will take the text comments that I have included in my source code and generate help files and text documentation Sandcaste project is great, but I highly recommend Eric Woodruff's GUI as a front end http://www.codeplex.com/SHFB . It makes things much simpler. Thanks again! ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions Circular Reference

Simplified: A project with 1 form and minimal code (Click events primarily) A Class Library (dll) with the rest of the code. The dll needs to reference (and modify/manipulate) elements of the form -- thus, a reference to the project (B) in the dll (A). When I try to reference code in the dll from the project, it requires a reference to the dll (which I provide) Referencing procedures of the dll result in a: "Possible circular reference ..." error. For example: <Code> In the dll (A): Function x( ByVal Y as project.form) { This requires a reference to project in the dll ) { No problem at this point & dll Builds OK } <Code> In the Project (B): x(Me) { Error: x ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. spritebatch causes DoF mis-rendering of meshes

I have several 3D meshes on the screen. I added a class for rendering the score using a method where you display a partial rectangle of a Texture2D .png, which is pretty common, I think. But now the 3D objects are rendering like they're out of order. If I zoom the camera around the field, things that are in the back ground are rendered the correct size for their distance but appear in front of closer objects. The problem goes away immediately if I comment out spriteBatch.Begin(); score.Draw(spriteBatch); spriteBatch.End(); Ideas Thank you! Greg By default, SpriteBatch.Begin() doesn't save the current render state, so you would need to reset render states before doing any 3D drawing. Optionally, you can ...Show All
