  • Windows Forms Disable PropertyGrid swallowing ctrl+z command keys?

Hi there, I have an undo/redo framework within my app but if a PropertyGrid control has the focus, it will swallow the ctrl+z keys and either perform toggling undo/redo if an item is being edited or nothing at all. I would like to disable this behaviour so that the containing form can handle multi-level undo/redo. I cannot define custom editors for every field type because the property grids need to be used for editing external types. Any ideas how to do this Thanks in advance, Duncan Oh I see, you actually get a KeyDown event not a KeyPreview event. Problem solved. ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Adding data to the DB for a Data Driven Unit Test

I have finally got my unit test just about ready but I need to add some data to the DB during the first run. I am sending data through and getting a return value. I want to add that return value to the Database so I can then organize all the tests by expected return value. Here is what my code looks like currently (some things changed to protect company code): [ Timeout (1000000), DataSource ( "System.Data.SqlClient" , "Data Source=MyBox\\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=Test_DB;Integrated Security=True" , "Test_Table" , DataAccessMethod .Sequential), TestMethod ] public void Status() { int p_DataID = ( int )TestContext.DataRow[( int ) Column .DataID]; string p_Data1= ( string )TestContext.DataRow[( int ) Column .Data1]; ...Show All

  • Windows Forms Enabling/Disabling Save button on BindingNavigator

I have a ColumnChanging event defined for a text box. I would like to enable/disable the Save button on my BindingNavigator depending on whether the e.Row.HasErrors. However, I can't access the BindingNavigator or its buttons due to the fact they are defined as private. Is there a way for me to access them by default they are declared as friend so u should be able to . this is the code i get when creating a navigator. • Visual Basic Select All on Text box GotFocus

This worked fine in VB6, but in .net, the text is only selected for a milisecond and then deselected. Is there some kind of workaround for this or do I have to use an event like click or something I figure it out. Had to declare a variable to determine whether or not it had been selected or not and put some code in the mouse up and down events. ...Show All

  • Windows Forms Loading forms

How can I load forms explicitly without showing them. Like there was a function Load (form_name) in VB6.0 that could be used to load forms without showing it. How can I achieve the same effect in VB2005 Thanx, I specifically wanted a way to trigger the Load event, but shifting my code to New will also do, in my case. As an aside, is there any way of trigeering the Load event without showing the form ( just in case, it is not possible to shift my code to the New from the Load event) ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Help Conecting my computer to xbox 360 for XNA

How do I connect my computer to the 360 for XNA because I put in the conection key and everything else but its still not connecting. It could be your router. I tried up and down to use Microsoft's Media Connect tool to share Vids, Picts, music from my computer to my Xbox. After hours of working with the Xbox people we gave up and determined that my router was not handling UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) even though the router indicated that it did. The router I couldn't connect with was a Linksys BEFSR41. I replaced it with a Linksys WRT54G and everthing has worked without a hitch. I could be way off, but I don't want anyone heading down the path I went through. Hope this helps. ...Show All

  • Windows Forms TypeDescriptionProvider attribute is ignored with generic Form

I am trying to create a generic form that can be designed in the VS designer. I found an article (http://www.urbanpotato.net/Default.aspx/document/2001) that fixed this for an abstract form and now I am trying to do the same thing with generics. But it seems that the TypeDescriptionProvider attribute is ignored when the Form is generic. The message box does not popup when I enter the designer (and of course the form cannot be designed). But when I remove the <T> from the generic form (and the <object> from the derived) the message box popup! Shouldn’t it always popup even if the class is generic or am I missing something Here is my GenericForm: [TypeDescriptionProvider(typeof(GenericFormProvider))] public class GenericForm< ...Show All

  • Visual Basic ODBC QueryString

I have a dataset containing 4 columns: history_record_type_code history_date product_code Qty This dataset has been created via the wizard. I am trying to select data using ODBC connection. I have configured a TableAdapter which works fine as long as I type into the select command the actual date range I want to extract. I want to have a parameter query to allow the date range to be entered. It was suggested that I connect to the database during run time and just alter the querystring command. The code I have used to do this is Dim connectionString As String connectionString = "Dsn=vac3odbclive;uid=SYSPROGRESS;db=vac3;oidp=TCP;oids=vac3odbclive;oidh=vaculug2;dbam=Via Server;dbpr=TCP;dbs=vac3liv ...Show All

  • SQL Server rsAccessDeniedToSecureData

I've installed a fresh load of SQL Server 2005 onto a Windows 2000 server, including all the trimmings with SS2005. Reporting Services 2005 is the main thing I want to initially check out, but I can't get it to work. In the 'Reporting Services Configuration' it shows the 'Web Service Identity' as a blank grey box which can not be edited. I can't help but think this might be where the issue is. I looked at this thread, as it describes the exact same problem, but the solution did not work for me. The RS service will start up, but then when I navigate to http://localhost/reportserver or http://localhost/reports it gives me the following error: Reporting Services Error Hi, Thanks for your reply.
