  • SQL Server Increasing timeout for Activity Monitor

One of my servers is at 100% CPU. I am trying to open activity monitor to find out the culprit but its timing out by giving following errors " =================================== Cannot show requested dialog. =================================== Unable to execute requested command. ------------------------------ Program Location: at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.VSIntegration.ObjectExplorer.ToolsMenuItem.OnCreateAndShowForm(IServiceProvider sp, XmlDocument doc) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.SqlMgmt.RunningFormsTable.RunningFormsTableImpl.ThreadStarter.StartThread() =================================== Unable to launch Activity Monitor. • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) Scrolling via mouse wheel pressed down and mouse dragged

Sorry for the long, cryptic title :) My question is: does WPF support scrolling if the mouse wheel is pressed down and the mouse is dragged This is the same behavior as in Internet Explorer, except I want to mimic it in my WPF window. thanks for all the help. I ended up pretty much using the class you provided, although just to let you know there's an odd behavior when implemented (seems that once the user presses down the scroll wheel to scroll in "IE mode", you can't release from it to go back to normal scrolling. It'll get "stuck" in IE scrolling and pretty much handicap the user). ...Show All

  • SQL Server SQL Server 2005 Hotfix

Hi everybody, I installed the SP1 on a SQL Server Enterprise Edition and, as a consequence, couldn't start the SSIS service no more. So I tried to installa the Hotfix for the SP1 in order to solve the problem. But, since I had made the mount of a volume in the "Data" directory in "Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL" (in order to expand the space available), I could not install the Hotfix because it provokes the loss of the mounted volume and, further, it signalled an error. Any hints on how to solve the problem Thank you very much, ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Network mix connection speed

What is the connection speed that Team System uses to simulate LAN and T1 connections First of all, you should be aware that the network simulation provided by VSTS is simply this: the measured response time for each Web test request is increased based on the network speed from the network mix and the content-length of the response. The files that define the connect speeds that are simulated are contained in the directory <Program Files>\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\Templates\LoadTest\Networks. There is an XML file that defines each network type. The value in the file for T1 is 1544 Kbps. For LAN, the value is 0 which is special value meaning that the response times should not be adju ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Release .exe not working on non-Xna system.

Hi, I sent a compiled version of the XNA shell program (blue screen only) to my friend who doesn't have XNA installed on his PC. Didn't work (crash with no decent debug info). After he installed XNA on his system, the .exe worked fined. Just thought you'd like to know. lushdog I have yet to test it but my guess would be that the least you need to run it is the latest DirectX install from Microsoft.com/directx. (You do NOT need the SDK. Because of personal preference I never install the SDK.) Also you will need to have the .Net Framework 2.0 installed. Along with those you will obviously need to give your program access to the 3 XNA DLLs. Remember though, this is not supported. ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. How to read different file format for directX

I wish to use DirectX to read other format file, such as *.3ds. other than *.x file. Thanks. Most file formats are proprietary to the companies that create them, but they offer many different ways to export the data with their tools. You will need to contact the vendors for more information. ...Show All

  • Visual Basic SQL Time Out Error

What causes a timeout other than a slow query An syntax error in a query I've got a windows service that downloads emails from a popserver and populates a table. Sometimes (like 3 times a day) the insert statement gives a timeout... can't find a pattern. The server doesn't seem to be busy... • SQL Server SQL Express needs to work on XP service Pack one

SQL Express 2005, MUST work on windows XP Service pack 1, it should not need XP SP 2 . Also it should not require windows server 2003 SP1. This is seriously limiting our possibilities as a development company, this is ruining business , ANYONE READING THIS MESSAGE WHO CARES ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND THAT INCLUDES ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DISTIBUTE SQL EXPRESS, SHOULD ADD THEIR SUPPORT BELOW, COME ON GUYS, PLEASE LET M.S. KNOW HOW WE FEEL ON THIS ISSUE.... Another alternative to yelling in the forums would be to write a feedback information on http://connect.microsoft.com where people can vote on. That would give Microsoft more information and overview about the situation. HTH, Jens Suessmeyer. --- http://www.sql ...Show All

  • Visual Studio bug in mscorlib? FileNotFoundException in preview and print

Hi, I am experiencing a problem when I print a report from the ReportViewer. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and the stock ReportViewer class. A PathTooLongException is thrown at System.IO.Path.NormalizePathFast(String path, Boolean fullCheck). There's only one call on the stack trace (System.IO.Path.NormalizePathFast(String path, Boolean fullCheck)). Seems like the ReportViewer is making a ReportPageTempFile in IsolatedStorage and the generated path/file name is too long. Seeing that my user name on this machine is only 12 chars long, I'm surprised that this error isn't prolifically posted on the net. Here's the path: C:\Documents and Settings\02xxxxxxxx22\Local Settings\Application Data\IsolatedStorage\rdjyjc4g.wxo\o3btnuyq.1sq\ StrongName. ...Show All
