• Visual Studio Express Editions Unable to open new project

  Hello, I'm new with Visual C++ express. I install it from the net and try to use it... The first thing I try to do is open an project. In the first window, I choose "Application console Win32" and give a name "bjr". I validate by the OK button. I receive a second window : "Bienvenue dans l'assistant Application Win32". I think that this window is uncomplete : no parameters for the project,... I'm unable to do anything on this window : no action on the "Terminer" button, "Annuler" button, "Parametre de l'application" zone,... All that I can do is abort the window.   I would like to display the total number of poly's currently in the viewport and I would like to display the total number of poly's in the scene.   I am taking a online c++ programing class. Since its online i have no real instructer to help me understand the course. Our finals are due friday and one of the programing problems on it has got me stuck.   Installer throws Message: "An error occurred while applying security settings. User is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network." • SQL Server AS stops working, Eventid 22, category 256

  Hi! During the last week my AS2005 server has behaved strangely. It works for two-three days and then it stops and cant handle any more queries. However i can list the catalog and cubes in ProClarity but when i try to connect to a cube it does not work. The same when i go to Management Studio. If i restart the service it works again, probably for another 2-3 days. Also AS2005 send a lot of error events to the eventlog. All like this(i think one for every query that fails but i am not sure). • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) MediaElement is playing HD-movies slow in RC1

  I've just upgraded my system from June CTP to RC1 of .NET 3.0. Rebuilding my projects worked without any problem but when i try to playback a HD-movie(720p) in a mediaelement i get unacceptable framerates. In June CTP the exact same movie worked perfect and i can't think of anything else that has changed in eighter my system or project that might affect videoplayback. Playing the movie in WMP, VLC or any other player works just as before. My system: Athlon 3200+, 1024mb ram, Radeo 9800pro 128mb, XP Pro, WMP 10 I'm unable to repro this problem.   Hello all, I know that the ATL headers aren't supplied with Visual C++ Express but what's to stop someone downloading the trial of Visual Studio.NET professional and copying the files from there Is it just the licencing issue If so, would it be illegal to create a project in VS professional and explicitly include the header files in the project so it could be maintained in VC++ Express Finally, what are the atl headers in the platform sdk (windows server 2003, not vista) I only ask because I want to create a BHO but I can't afford VS full version. • Smart Device Development ActiveSync & Mobile Device Center killed my internet

  I have a wm5 device with activesync, which was installed with activesync 4.2 for xp. Now I switched to vista and mobile device center and when I connect device using usb internet stops working. I disconnect the device, fancy activesync arrows turn to wi-fi antenna and internet works again. I need to debug program which accesses the internet. I use usb to debug on the device. When I plug the usb, activesync takes control over the connection and internet stops working. I cannot uninstall activesync from the device because Add/Remove programs list is empty.   I am working on a machine running MS Visual Studio 2003. After I create and code a project, when it comes to compile&run I get the following message: Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging. Access is denied. Verify that you are an administrator or a member of the 'Debuger Users' group on the machine you are trying to debug.   Is it possible to nest one design surface within another I want to design a language that enables hierarchical modeling where one design surface has high-level shapes that represent other models which have their own language and design surfaces.   Hey everyone. :( I'm at a complete loss here. I have a socket server application. Multiple users, chatrooms, instant messenging, etc. It's a racing application. Either way, here's how I can break it down: Asynchronous socket server VB.NET There are 3 types of controls, I guess you could call them: User control - client sends a command to socket server User timeout timer - checks to look for hanging connection.
