  • Visual Studio Express Editions Compiling Code During Runtime

Greetings, I am currently developing a MUD styled Game Engine Suite that includes a complete set of tools needed to develop a MUD project and publish it. It is being wrote in C# and I am wanting to allow users who use the tools to be able to write scripts using the C# language. I looked into the CSharpCodeProvider and found that it uses csc.exe to compile the provided source during my applications runtime, will it compile an executable or just compile and execute the provided code I am not wanting an executable created, but rather give the user access to some .dlls that they can use to control various elements of the game through C# scripting.   If anyone has a better way of approaching this please feel free to share! &n ...Show All

  • SQL Server Restoring from .MDF/.LDF

Hi there, I've got a .mdf/.ldf database/log. I'm trying to bring it into SQL Server Management studio, but can't figure out how. I've gotten as far as "Attaching" it, but can't figure out where to go from there. Can anyone help me out. I know this is very basic. Thanks. Moving database from SQLS2k5 to SQLS2k5Express may be not easy! I have obtained customer DB which was detached from SQL2K and attached it to SQL2005 Express. I found that all tables are presented in form DBA.<table name> and simplest query SELECT * FROM <table name> results in error message saying something like "object name <table name> is incorrect" while query SELECT * FROM DBA.<tab ...Show All

  • .NET Development Guess who's coming to dinner... app_offline.htm

Question Admittedly this is has to be my most bizarre post...Upon coming in in the morning I discovered the file app_offline.htm in the root of a WebService that I have been actively developing against for the past few months. I didn't discover the file until I tried to send a test message to the service and it just failed. When I pulled up the .asmx file it was directed me to app_offline.htm which told be the service was offline and to remove the file to get the service back running. Now I did not place it there, and I verified on a published version of the WebService on another server that this file was not pre-existing. Also the time of the creation of the file was 11pm the previous night. Another clue is that I had to login into my co ...Show All

  • Visual C++ The difference of user-defined dll and system dll ?

I build a big project file by vc. and I use Dependency Walker to check all the dll which it depend. But I want to know which dll is user defined dll and which one is window system dll Please tell me the easy way to indentify the difference of them I apprecaite your help. I don't think that there is difference. Maybe this looks stupid, but Google search on Dll name always helps - if this part of Windows, you can see this. For example, this is second link from user32.dll Google search: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/dlllibrary/user32/ ...Show All

  • Windows Search Technologies Index Filenames only??

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to set the desktop search to index the filenames only I don't want to index all my documents. If it is not possible out of the box - perhaps I can develop a plugin to handle this - is this possible Cheers Franz Hello Franz, I have an answer that should get you close to what you're looking for. Using WDS 2.6.x there really isn't any out-of-the-box solution to index file names only. However, WDS 3.0 beta 2 (and it's non-beta counterpart that is on its way) allow you to choose whether you want to index file content or just the file names and properties. While name and properties is more than you really want, it results in a much smaller index than would name and conte ...Show All

  • Microsoft ISV Community Center Forums Limitations of business scorecard manager

As I am considering buying Business scorecard manager soon, and since it is an expensive piece of software I would appreciate someone either confirming the issues I am having... or correcting me if I am wrong. If i can get these issues sorted out then Microsoft, you defintely have a sale! Firstly, Am I right in thinking business scorecard manager does not work with more than one dimension attribute from a dimension For example, if I take the time hierarchy to be a year - month hierarchy from a dimension and put that in the column members of a dimensioned scorecard, and I add the branch attribute, from the same dimension, to the row members (so that I would have the data divided up into the different branches down the left hand side ...Show All

  • .NET Development Deleting a single row from related tables

Hi, I have 3 related tables. First one is the parent and the other two are children of the first one. Ican navigate through parent and its children using DataGridViews and relations. When I delete a single row from my parent table I want to delete only its children not all the deleted rows in child tables. When I use DataTable.GetChanges() and try to iterate through its rows checking if the row's foreign key matches to the parent row's primary key I have an exception saying "you can not access a property of any 'deleted' row" which forces me to delete all deleted rows from each child table. • Visual Studio Team System DB validation on Webtest

I am testing a functionality in my website where when I set a flag on a form it should update the SQLServer Db. I am doing the webtest to do other form checks on this page. I would like to see if the table value has been updated from the webtest rather than checking at the DB level. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks, If you do not want to hit the database, then your application will need to return some value indicating that the database was updated. Then you could add a validation rule to the request to check for this value. Here is a help link on validation rules: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms182544(VS.80).aspx ...Show All
