Windows Forms Pinable Controls
I'm wondering if there is a way that I can create a control that will be able to be pinned/unpinned, mimicking the same functionality as the pins on each window within VS 2005 IDE design view (toolbox, solution explorer, properties, etc). I know this is possible with 3rd party tools, however, the constraint is that I cannot use any 3rd party tools. I need to use readily available tools within VS 2005 Professional Edition. I've been researching this for the past two days, and it looks like this is possible with a toolstripcontainer, but I have no clue how to go about doing this. Visual Studio Team System TF31005: Team Foundation cannot retrieve the list of team projects ....
Hi, Our admin installed TFS VPC into a VMWare to evaluate TFS. I was able to connect to VmWare instance. But the problem is whenever I try to "Add Existing Project" using the Team explorer I am getting the following error: TF31005: Team Foundation cannot retrieve the list of team projects because it is not able to connect to Team Foundation Server TFSRTM. In my network places there are few enteries for TFSRTM but none of them is working as if the TFSRTM server is not available. Visual Basic Really funky combobox databinding problem...help!
Ok, I'm really stumped. I have a form that is bound to BindingSource1, which through it's table adapter references a table of records. Two of the columns in that table are type and typeID. typeID is a foreign key into another table that basically lists all possible types. So I have a combobox on this form that I would like to populate with all possible types and bind the SelectedValue to BindingSource1 - typeID. I set up everything in the VS2005 designer to populate the list and bind the Selected Value. I run the app and open the form and everything seems to work fine, the combobox is populated and the proper item is selected according to the typeID that it is bound to. .NET Development detailsView and/or tableAdapter data manipulation
Hi! I have the following problem: Theres a detailsView that I use to let users enter data. This data then gets published on a website (think simple CMS). But the users that enter data are not tech-savvy, therefore I need to replace CR and LF with <br />. This isn't difficult as is, to perform this all I need to do is "string.Replace("\r\n", "<br />")", but the problem lies in the data access. the detailsView is fed from a tableAdapter that gets a whole table from a DB. This code is not written by me, so I'm not into the technical details. All I am looking for is the right moment and way to let my replace do its work. I am very new to this XNA CTP software, and I wanted to learn how to use it I have everything installed that is needed to run it, but I have no clue what to do with it. I was wondering if someone could please tell me a place I can go to learn how to use this software. .NET Development newbie question on COM versus .Net Remoting
Hi, I'm looking for a simple "yes or no" kind of answer. I'm just getting started building some applications using .Net remoting, and I'm adapting some applications that I originally wrote to use DCOM. My question: As I perceive it, with my DCOM app, I was able to have my client app tell my server machine to start running an .exe that had not previously been running (i.e. wasn't in memory on the server machine), then I could have the client start using objects created by the server .exe. As near as I can tell, in .Net Remoting, my server application has to already be running on my server machine , before I can have a client instantiate objects out of it. SQL Server what errors normally should i log for my SSIS package?
I got an SSIS package that first "truncate the product table" then populate the table with new rows....if there is an error then i will invoke the send email task. However in the "truncate the product table" task, the sql i put "truncate dbo.product" instead of "truncate table dbo.product" but this error is not captured in the text file that I m going to send an email to the appropriate personnel. Under logging, and when i go into "truncate product table" tasks , "Details", i saw "OnError", "OnWarning" and other error handlers...which should i tick in order for the text file to ONLY show errors I encounteered during the running of the SSIS packa ...Show All

Hi I am using wceload and I need to check if the Cabs or Exe I am using with wceload.exe is signed or unsigned.. If the system policy is set to only allow signed assemblies, then the wceload will fail if ./silent is used. Does anyone how I can check for this in VC++ Allan ...Show All

I have been using Windows Live Messenger for months and today I clicked on the livecall button option. I closed the livecall window and never made any changes but now whenever I open Live Messenger it automatically loads the livecall.exe process which stays resident and uses 17-18MB of ram. This process is just a resource hog as I don't use the service at all and can find no way to set Live Messenger to not load this process upon startup. Can anyone tell me how to tell live messenger to not load this process on startup anymore I am using Windows Live Messenger version 8.1.0178.00 on XPSP2. Windows Forms Custom Cursor, showing up only in...black
I tried: this .Cursor = new Cursor ( Application .StartupPath + \\Images\\UI\\Cursor.cur ); to get a cursor, this is one from windows by the way, I used one that I wasn't using, so that I could tell the difference, but apparently... on form load, the cursor is black, not the blueish color it should be, it does this with every cursor I try too! Is there a form property interfering.. Languages: C# & VB .NET 2005 I know it only supports the .cur , the windows type is of the .cur format. Hi, I'm looking for some ideas on how I can achieve this: I have a Word Template that is used in a mail merge. When the merge happens, I want to store one of the the merge field values into the document in such a way that I can use this value later from a VBA macro. I have a sample application which works with our SQL 2005 server but not with the SQL 2000 server. When the data is bound to the grid the save button works just as expected with the SQL 2005 database, but fails when I use the SQL 2000 database (which is on the same server).
