  hello, i would like to know how to simulate the behavior of the ranking column in media player 10, like when you hover it, stars are on or off, and allows on the fly editing. the cell values are something like : 0; 75 ; 150; 200; 255 there are 5 values for 5 stars my question is: how can i consider it i mean do i have to create 5 columns , one for each star or is there a way to insert multiple image items in one cell, I found nothing about it or shall i simply use 6 versions of image that will not be editable   thanks a lot Simply Impressed. • SQL Server Strange goings-on in BIDS-->Perspectives

  I've just seen the following when opening the "Perspectives" tab of my cube in BIDS:   http://blogs.conchango.com/photos/conchango_bloggers/images/4183/original.aspx   Which doesn't exactly look that good! I tried to paste contents of my .cube file but there was just too much of it and I wasn't able to post successfully! • Visual C++ Creating a DLL

  Hi, I currently have an application, which uses lame_enc.dll to encode audio into MP3 files. There is another encoder available as gogo.dll which uses ASM hand-optimised routines, and is therefore much faster. Without modifying my application, I want to create a new lame_enc.dll file which will simply pass data onto gogo.dll, and translate any settings required. Therefore giving the option to add a much faster encoding engine into my application.   Removing the fixed function pipeline is simply a bad idea. Lets face it, as an indie-developer, we are targeting 3 year old intel on-board chipsets... maybe the fixed pipeline is available via effects files I have a nice little terrain engine in C++ - using DX8 - most users don't even have the big nine installed - that I would like to port over to XNA... it uses the fixed function pipeline and can blend 2 textures per patch via a coverage factor and modulate this with a shadowmap (if there are 4 blend stages)... and runs with high framerates even on intel on-board. For older hardware with only two stages, it simply do two passes. So for indie-developers, wo loose 95% of our target audience due to the removal of the fixed function pipeline ...Show All

  Hello again; How would I go to use the CheckDependencyTask in conjunction with a custom Task like Convert2JpegTask If Convert2Jpeg was an .exe, the XnaExec would dump dependency informations which could be used by CheckDependencyTask. Would I need to dump the dependency information from the custom tasks just like XnaExec does Is there any helper to do that Thanks in advance! The XnaToolTask is for command line only tools.   I have a couple of textboxes for user input. They will put in the number of answers to a specific question. For example TextBox1.Text they enter in 7 for "yes" TextBox2.Text they enter in 4 for "no" So I need to get the answer values into an array. Textbox1 value is "YES", Textbox2 values is "NO" So I need an array that would be "YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, NO, NO, NO, NO" Could someone point me in the right directions.   hi, i just added sound to my app, and i pulled-in the SpaceWar demo's Sound.cs code. i'm doing the init and shutdown the same way, and playing sounds with it isn't rocket science... still, as i play sounds, the memory usage keeps going up and up -- even though they're the same TWO sounds over and over -- until finally i get an exception "thrown from an external component" (gee, i wonder which). am i missing something here seems like this soundBank thingie would be like the AssetCache thingie and do some reusing, but still i see it suck up almost a megabyte every time a play a few sounds. anyone else seeing this (and i tried calling Stop() explicitly -- doesn't help) thanks, dave There's an issu ...Show All

• SQL Server Someone is trying to hack my SA account

  I'm getting dozens of attempts per minute on my SA account for SQL Server 2000. The systematic nature of it makes me think a script kiddie is doing this - and has been doing this all weekend. I'm not worried about him ever guessing the password, but I would like to use my firewall to block his IP address. Is there any way to get the IP addy of someone trying to log into my SQL server I believe blocking that ip address can be achieved from your firewall software.   I know this is an easy one for most of you but this is new territory for me. I am trying to link a production application database to an existing SMS database. Both of these databases are SQL 2000. I have sa access to both of them. I have an accreditation application that deals with internal processes within our active directory network. We are using SMS database collections to provide the discovery for reporting of this application database and I want to compare the collection to the existing data between the 2 databases.   I'm new to Visual Studio (I have VS 2005 Standard Edition) and I'm trying to learn how to code a DLL with some standard functions I use instead of including a cpp file into every project that needs it. Using the help I got a DLL to work with a Win32 project using __declspec ( dllexport ) and __declspec ( dllimport ). When I try a Windows Form Application I get lots of errors with the linker because of the CLR from what I can tell. I tried various things I read and could never get it to work. • Visual Studio Out Of Memory error

  Visual Studio 2005 (8.0.50727.42) Visual SourceSafe 2005 (8.0.50727.42) I have a solution with a Web Application project, a Web Service project, and I've just added a Database project (old kind, not the new SQL Server Project type). The projects are each bound to SourceSafe on a remote server using VSS integration. This Database project has around 800 stored procedure scripts, and since I added these items to the project I get a delay of around 30 seconds to 5 minutes or more for any SourceSafe operation that I do. Most of these delays result in an error popup saying Visual SourceSafe | Out Of Memory.
