• SQL Server Report Explorer and Report Viewer Webparts not working with new WSS 3.0

  I just installed a fresh lab machine with WSS 3.0 and SQL 2005 SP1. I registered the RS web parts. In the home page I added the Reports Explorer and the Report viewer web parts. I set up the Reports Explorer and the list of reports are showed. When I connect the Report Viewer Web part to get report from the Report Explorer web part I get the maintenance WSS page. I have to delete the Report Viewer web part to have the page working again. If I use only the Reports Viewer with a report (not connected to Reports Explorer) is working just fine. • .NET Development Random Number Generator Problem

  Hi all, I cannot seem to solve this problem: I am attempting to generate a unique filename with the help of the Random Number Generator (RND.Next.ToString). All seems to work fine except that one third of the time, I get duplicate file names; this poses a critical problem for my application. The problem only seems to happen when Method1 calls Function2 to generate and return the random file name. If I move the logic to generate the filename into Method1, it works properly. I have tried to use SyncLock, etc. but to no avail. Why is it that when Method1 calls Function2 to generate the random file name, I get duplicates, whereas if I move the logic from Function2 into Method1, I get no duplicate file names.   I know how to load and compile C shader shource code into an ID3dXEffect interface. However, this mean I must have the source code with the program. What I want is to deliever the end user with only the precompiled "assembly" code of the effect, and not the source code. So, I would like to know how do I compile C shader source code into assembly, and load this assmebly into the D3DDevice. Also, how do I set global variables of the shader in this case Thanks in advance.   Just noticed that Team System add-on is not available for SQL 2005.   Hi, I have noticed something strange on a query the contains a count(distinct) and a count(). For example: select count(distinct colid) as totalId ,count(evtMsgId) as totalMess from tableA where seqID =1125 The query above results in a large worktable and io to it.   I am planning migration from Visual Sourcesafe to Team Foundation and I am wondering about the right structure. We are currently working on version 8 of our product. Under VSS we were using the recommended approach with one folder-tree named like the product "MyProduct" and one branch for each released major version "MyProduct1", "MyProduct2", ..., "MyProduct7". Using several Team Projects for each version does not make much sense to me because the team stays the same and we do not want to copy work items like bugs and tasks from one project to the next after each release.
