• Windows Forms set data connection on application installation

  Hi I'm quite new to creating applications though have been getting on ok so far but I have now come to publish my application but I want to install it onto a pc that is not on the network it was created. I have connected to the SQL server on my PC which contains a copy of the live database I want to use.   Please can someone let me know how i can edit an xnb file..... is there a particular program i can use As I understand it, the only time you would need to edit an xnb file is if you didn't have access to the source code anymore (or ever ).   in my windows application i am using the webNavigator control for opening a msword document file it is very helpfull for me to open word document file and also helpfull to access all the featurs of the msword file the code i am using for this is webnavigatorcontrol1.navigateurl("filepath.doc") but my requirement is to open msoutlook in my windows application can any one help me this would be a seperate process execution, in which case use the Process.Start class in the System.Diagnostics namespace. you can either create a full email/html based string which will then launch the default email client program or you can just load the outlook program. • Windows Forms Error Handling - Application level

  I know that .NET provides a default run-time error dialog that let's you review an error and then either continue or quit an application. Is it possible to replace this dialog with my own error handling routine I would like to write just one routine that will handle all errors at the application level. I tried to wrap Application .Run( new Form1 ()); in the Try Catch block, and it does work with the exception that I cannot do the Continue action similar to how .NET does it in its error-handling dialog. • Visual Studio Documentation Compiler - Sandcastle

  We did code complete of documentation compiler ( code named "Sandcastle") on June 15th and currently we are testing the tool building our .NetFramework documentation. We would like to release the CTP version of Sandcastle in Microsoft download center by next week. The perf in our testing has been great as we are able to build the entire framework content in less than 1 hour. I am in the process of going through final check and code signing required to post this in our download center.   I want to add the music to be the background music. But when I try to change the LoopEvent in xact it show an error "Object reference not set to an instance of the object". How can I solve this problem Please help me. thank you He's actually not writing any code. He's using Xact to setup his music bank. Looking in the Xact forums, it seems this has been a common error, that until recently the Microsoft team had been having trouble recreating. • Visual Studio Team System Migrating From Other Bug Tracking Systems to VSTS

  hi all! It is i think a very general query nowadays from the ppl using or moving to VSTS. We are using Test Director 8.0 . Now as we are planning to move to VSTS , we want all the previous work (bugs, Requierments etc) to get migrate to VSTS as its work items. I have searched the net, what i found was a converter only for Clear Quest. MS i think is working on convertors for other tools as well. But do each of us have to wait all that long to get a convertor for the particular tool we are using. And my guess is Test Director is a widely used tool for Bug Tracking. • Internet Explorer Development IE7 Start up problem

  Hi, I am having problems starting IE7. When I start IE7 it hangs for ages, maybe a few minutes before starting then everything runs OK. I don't think IE7 is the problem because when I start my network connection (tiscali broadband) explorer hangs too and nothing will run until it clears itself, several minutes later. When I boot Windows (XPSP2) iexplorer.exe runs at boot and tries to connect to the internet but I have no applications that call this program at startup, (except maybe McAfee and JavaSun scheduler). I have checked the registry and it seems clear (as far as I can see!) I have tried running McAfee and AdAware but they dont find anything. • Visual Basic Carrying a value from one form to the next to display information from a table

  I have a form that has a value from a table on it and I am trying to carry that value over to a new form to display more information. I know that I probably need to do something with classes but I am so new at this that I don't totally understand classes. • Windows Forms DataGridView with external verification

  I am trying to build a database table with four columns: lastName, firstName, userID, and passWord. I have a DataGridView for the first three. I want to use a text box to enter the password, and a second text box to verify it. My problem is that as soon as I leave the DataGridView it reacts, and I never get a chance to enter the passWord. • .NET Development Selecting / Update records - Concurrancy

  I'm new to Visual Studio 2005 (Visual Basic). I'm an Oracle guy but I do allot of development in MS Access. I don't want to use ADO.NET's generic behaviour for record locking, etc. What I'd really like to do is to have the same behaviour as Access has where if a user changes a field, the database locks the record. I was wondering if you had any sample code that would allow me to set up a form that has a combo box on the top of the form where the user selects a record. Then the database fetches the row and displays the data on the screen. If the user changes the data, the form locks the record.
