  Hi, I have a strange problem...I work an application which is multithreading.I interrupt,with my application, the communication of two devices which send each other hexadecimal messages to communicate with Rs232..so i can check in my program what kind of messages are that and i can also change some bytes and send them back changed..the problem is that when I run this in my pc(2GHz) is run ok..everything work..I have mentioned the GHz cause I do a lot of processes until I send back the changed bytes and that some times take long time and I lose the communication(i need real time coinnection)..In my old pc (1GHZ) it also works...But when I gave that to my firend to check in his pc (3,4)..it doesn;t work...Have you any idea aboput the reason. ...Show All

  So I've downloaded and ran the various terrain code samples and they work fine for a square area with a skybox. Here's the kicker: how would I go about extending this to render an entire planet full of terrain My goal is to recreate, as much as possible, the features of the Frontier (wikipedia.org) game we all enjoyed back in the day.   I'm out there with my HD-DVD demo and am always running into people who havent updated their firmware on their Toshibas...Its an awkward moment when your video rolls and your HDi doesnt...hehe ummm . Of course when you update the firmware your HDi code plays fine...How far are we from having this feature implemented Peter Toshiba ...I think it will be vital to our more advanced stuff. From my experience there has been a major HDi improvement with the Toshiba updates...mainly in the area of Xpath expressions. I just wish everyone was forced onto the same firmware short-bus. • .NET Development System.Net.Socket disconnect problems

  Hi, I've done some searching but haven't managed to find an answer - hopefully this is the correct place to post. A group of us are writing an internet chat protocol with associated server and client. The server is written in VC++, and goes through a specific chain of events if the OnClose() function of one of the CAsyncSockets is called. For one of the clients in development (realbasic on mac OS X) this works fine - they close the connection at their end, and the server picks it up. However, for the VB.NET version of the client we are having problems. No matter how we disconnect, the server doesn't realise that the client has gone.
