Hello, I am trying to determine the current user in the web service. My app has been running for some time on XP and Server 2003 successfully. Now on Vista, I fail because RequestSoapContext .Current is null. I've gone through all the steps to get the IIS 6 compatibility working and this seems to be my remaining issue. Visual C# HOW TO: Spilt Text File After Specified Line
Hi All, How can I split a big text file (e.g. 4525 lines of data) into pieces of smaller text file after a specified number of lines (e.g. it will gives us 10 smaller file if the smaller file has maximum 500 lines of data; the last piece will have only remainder 25 lines of data.) Thanks in advance. Thanks. I was very grateful of your help here. Another few questions here. 1. What if I would like to split the file by its smaller pieces file size (e.g. 2MB for each pieces.) 2. Microsoft ISV Community Center Forums Sending e-mail from within VBA
We have an application that makes heavy use of the capability to send out email. The application is written in Access, and we use the local Outlook client to send mail through the client's Exchange server. This has worked fine so far. However we now have a need to send email from the same machine, but make it look like it came from a different account (i.e. email sender). In realtime Outlook, you can define multiple accounts in your Outlook profile and can easily switch between them, so that the From address reflects the underlying account set up. After hours of searching, it seems that from vba you can control almost everything about an e-mail EXCEPT make it send from a different account. Any Ideas Thanks, -Rob ...Show All
Windows Forms datagridview newrow()

SQL Server On Failure WorkFlow not getting Exectuted
i created a DTS package in SQL 2000 using the enterprise manager. I have defined a SQL task to drop some temporary tables on failure of another SQL task. Also the same temporary tables need to be dropped on success of another task. the on success workflow is working fine. but when i add the on failure workflow to the temporary table dropping task, the temp table droppin is not getting excuted at all either for success nor for the failure. please help me out. Logical OR is great feature in SSIS, but I think the question is about DTS 2000, which did not have this option. In DTS 2000 you need to duplicate error-handling tasks. Or move to SSIS :) ...Show All
Windows Forms Strange painting problem with GraphicsPath
Hello, I created a custom Windows Forms control that represents a coordinate system being filled with a timer-controlled GraphicsPath. The maximum y-value of the graph (say "100") maps to a clipping area Point y-coordinate of 40 (any maximal value of 100 is painted 40 pixel beneath the top of the whole control). Now the following strange effect occurs: While filling the GraphicsPath Point values I make sure that none of the points' y-coordinate falls below 40 (I don't like to paint outside the coordinate system), values that should happen to exceed 100 are "cut" to 100 (so y=40), however, when I paint the path with Graphics.DrawPath I notice that my maximal values are painted clearly above the 40px line, they seem to o ...Show All
Visual Studio Invalid Dos Path error when trying to run Analyze
Hello all, I'm getting an Invalid Dos Path errror when trying to run Analyze on a SourceSafe database located on a server drive. The one clue is the acutal error (see below): Visual SourceSafe Analyze Version 8.0 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Invalid DOS path: \\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe\\\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe" Obviously the path is bad as it appears to be "doubled-up" as you can see. I just can't find out why this is going on. I've checked the obvious solutions like the srcsafe.ini file and the paths are fine here (i.e. no double-entries just \\mcweb\sourcefiles\sourcesafe for the source path). So where is this path being created and or read I'm running analyze from a workstation, ...Show All
.NET Development Accessing/Editing SQL Server Database using VB.net program via TCP/IP
Hey everyone, I have a SQL Server 2005 database up and running on a server and I have it set so that there can be remote connections using Windows Authentication (we share the server with some other accounts so this is the most convenient way for us to do it) and I also made sure that our XP Firewall allows connections to SQL Server. We have created program using VB.net (Visual Studio 2005) that reads/writes/and deletes items from our database on the local machine. What we want to do is now make it so that we can run the VB program from other computers around our building and remotely connect to the database via TCP/IP using Windows Authentication. I have tried altering our data source that writes to the database locally ...Show All
Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Recommended Graphics Format?
These are primarily questions for the XNA developers... 1) What is the recommended graphics format for textures, bitmapped fonts, etc. I'm currently using BMP files but most of the examples appear to use TGA . 2) Also, should I restrict my graphics files to widths and heights of powers of 2 (eg, 128x32, 64x64, etc.) Please be verbose. I would like to know *WHY* I should use one format over another, so please don't just respond with "bitmap" or "targa". Thanks! :) I would imagine that NOT to be true for the XBox 360. From what I understand it is primarily for older video cards, newer cards do not have the same power of 2 requirement. However, someone else would have to really ...Show All

Visual Studio Reflector Add-In Inquiry
I'll bet alot of you have used Lutz Roeder's Reflector to explore .NET assemblies. It's mentioned in this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/07/MustHaveTools/ I use it all the time because it's shows MS Intermediate Language decompilation, and alternatively C# decompilation. Even though it seems alot like cheating, I use it without any guilt whatsoever, because I'm actually a fairly inept coder. Anyway, a Reflector Add-In exists for Visual Studio, and I'm wondering if any of you have gotten it to work, and if so, the obvious question is: How cool is it The Reflector SDK is maintained at the following site: http://www.gotdotnet.com/workspaces/workspace.aspx id=0f5846c3-c7aa-4879-8043-e0f4fc233ade Lutz Roeder provides this ...Show All
