  • SQL Server Actual and Forecast as One Measure

Hi, there, I have a measure, Sales Amt which consists of 12 mths from Jan to Dec. Let's say, now is Feb. Sales Amt for Jan is actual amt and Sales Amt from Feb onwards are considered forecasts. Currently, forecast Sales Amt is calculated using Excel formula. I have 12 columns (12 mths) for Sales Amt. Every mth, users will overwrite the forecast with the actual amt.  Is there a way to show both actual Sales Amt and forecast Sales Amt as one measure if I define the formula to calculate the forecast amt in the cube   Thank you.   Regards, Yong Hwee  1. You can have Scenario dimension with Actual, Plan and Forecast members, and scope on each one of them for diff ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Load Test using Team Build

We want to run a load test nightly and collect the metrics so that we can see if/how the performance of a web app under development changes over time. To that end we created a Team Build build type for a solution that contains nothing other than a test project that contains the load test. The load test was added to a test list for the solution, and the build type was configured to run the test list. When we build the build type the load test runs just fine (we can see the load on the web server), and the test completes with no errors. After the build completes successfully we view the build report, drill into the Results section, click on the test run, and then double-click on the completed test in the Test Results window. At this point we ...Show All

  • Visual C++ cannot convert parameter 1 from 'char *' to 'System::String ^'

Hello! I'm trying to read a variable from a ini file and put this data into a input box. Here's my code: char * lpstrINIFile = "inca.ini" ; char * lpstrBuffer = new char [255+1]; GetPrivateProfileString( LPCWSTR( "ADR" ), LPCWSTR( "ADRxPos" ), NULL, LPWSTR(lpstrBuffer), 255, LPCWSTR(lpstrINIFile)); ADRxPos->Text = lpstrBuffer; ADRxPos is the name of the input box, but somehow i get this error on compiling: error C2664: 'void System::Windows::Forms::Control::Text::set(System::String ^)' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'char *' to 'System::String ^' I've been googling for a solution for the last couple of hours, but can't find anything on how to fix this.  #edit: Sorry for the doublepost, my browser ...Show All

  • Visual FoxPro vpos value in frx files

I'm trying to convert the vpos value (ex. 9479.833) in a report file to actual inches) so that I can give the actual label values for a check to a printer. When I look at the top value in design mode this value is denoted at .53 which I confirm. How is the vpos value converted to inches I think it's still 1/10000 for vpos. Probably you're not calculating nonprintable area on top Anyway I'd trust inches in designer and print samples on plain paper and measure. ...Show All

  • SQL Server ReportExecutionService Render Method - Setting the data - XML

Hello all, I'm at a bit of a loss as it seems what I want to do should be obvious but I can't seem to locate whether it is possible. Essentially I would like to render a report using the api/C# and I would like to set the actual data the report renders via an XML string that I construct however I like within my code. Is this not possible I hope I'm overlooking the obvious here. Thanks in advance for your feedback. Take a look at the XML Data Provider: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964129.aspx Or, if you are using the local controls, convert the XML to a dataset. ...Show All

  • .NET Development What did I do wrong (Getschema method in SQLServerCE)?

I have a problem with the Getschema method in the SQLServerCe namespace - I am fairly new in C# so I may have overlooked something. My problem is that I have only the C# Express edition (I don't have the mobile projects) so I am "forced" to make my own viewer for my SQL Compact databases (.sdf) as I can't use SQL server Management Studio Express for these files. However, when I use the Getschema() method in the corresponding namespace it seems to not work. This is the code I used: string connstring = @"Data Source=c:\!studiec#\betatest.sdf" ; SqlCeConnection myconn = new SqlCeConnection (@connstring); myconn.Open(); DataTable mytable = myconn.GetSchema(); I get the error "Spe ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. One BGM in memory at a time? See if my method makes any sense.

Take a look and see if this makes sense. I can't seem to stream an audio file from the hard drive, or at least I don't know how. It looks like streaming is designed to be read from a DvD. However, failing that, it looks like when you define a new audio engine and specify the xact file to use, it loads all the wav files into memory. Obviously, this isn't a good idea for multiple large music files. So... what about creating a separate xact file for each bgm, disposing the wavebank when you want a new bgm and creating a new audio engine, wave bank, and sound bank using the xact file of the new bgm you want. Would this achieve the goal of having only one bgm in memory at a time Ok, so, in xact, I created a new Wave Bank (Wave Bank 2) ...Show All

  • Smart Device Development UPnP: problem with QueryStateVariable

Hello! I have a problem with the UPnP API on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Emulator (Microsoft Visual Studio 2005)... My software is able to find devices and invoke their actions but some things don't work: 1) InvokeAction of an action with one (or more) output parameter: it returns an array with one (or more) elements but the type of these (VARIANT) element is VT_ERROR. 2) Same happens if I use QueryStateVariable (returned VARIANT has type VT_ERROR). void CMyProject::QueryStatusVariable(IUPnPService *pUPnPService, CString VariableName) { HRESULT hr=S_OK; TCHAR tszMessage[2048]; CString strVariable; BSTR bstrVariableName = NULL; bstrVariableName=VariableName.AllocSysString(); if (bstrVariableName! ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Inserting a line break in a literal string

I am just getting started with VB and I am sort of used to QuickBasic, and I wanted to open a text file such as "C:/File.txt" and add to it. I got the file open and all of its contents into a string, but I can't add line breaks to it. The line breaks display fine in a MsgBox command but I can't insert the line break string (which looks like two vertical lines) into a literal string. If I try to paste it into the VB Code window, it actually adds a line break just as if I had pressed Enter, and the symbols look different than the Shift + \ line ( | ). The program looks sort of like this: FileContents = My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllText("C:\File.txt") Now, a Sub for a button NewData = TextBox1.Text FileContents = FileCont ...Show All

  • SQL Server Understanding ROLAP

We are looking at adding a real-time aspect to our SSAS cube set, to allow reporting against a relatively small but constantly changing data Our initial thought was to use ROLAP partitions and dimensions - we were under the impression that the queries would always be satisfied from the underlying relational tables. However, in our explorations we are finding that understanding to be incorrect - SSAS is in fact caching data, so it ends up returning stale data. We've configured our paritions and dimensions for ROLAP and disabled all proactive caching (we would like this solution to work with SSAS Standard Edition, which precludes the use of proactive caching). Is there something else we need to figure Are are we headed down the wrong path h ...Show All

  • Windows Search Technologies How to open an outlook item from the searched result (mapi url)

Hi Everyone !!! I am totally new to WDS development. I have downloaded WDS SDK and sample application. Using that sample application i learnt a lot but have problem in opening outlook item from the search result's mapi url. Mapi url is like mapi://LocalHost/Default/Mailbox – Some User ($484efb89)/0/Inbox/ /at= :somefile.txt Some part of this mapi url is encoded i.e. store entry id (Hashnumber) and EntryID (encoded as Unicode string). For detail please check http://blogs.msdn.com/stephen_griffin/archive/2006/05/10/594641.aspx . In this article i found the decoding algorithms to calculate store hash and to calculate encoded entry id. These algorithms are in c++ but i wanted it in c#.net, can anyone please do for me ...Show All

  • Software Development for Windows Vista Determine correct activity instance during Activity Tracking

What I want to do is add the record ID as User Data to the activity so it can be used during processing. I know the root activity, the context guid and the qualified name for the current activity. But how do I use this information to get the correct activity instance Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nate Local service is the right way to get data into the workflow.
