• SQL Server Error in initialization of the report service

  I installed the evaluation version of SQL Server 2005 to my Windows XP machine. Everything has worked well. Now I have problem. I installed the reporting service to test the web reporting. In the Report service configuration manager I get three errors: The Web Services Identity indicator is red and pushing Apply button gives the error : ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: An unknown error has occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 8007056B Pushing Initialization button gives the message: There was an error while switching panels.   I have reporing services in serverA, and i want to move all the reports to a new server serverB. ServerA ---Sqlserver2000, operating system windows2000 adv server ServerB ---Sqlserver2005, operang system windows2003 server. Is it true that i have to detach the db from one server and attach it on another.   Hey there, I'm a bit of a newbie to web services, and I'm trying out the Products WebService in the WebAppSample from the August CTP. I noticed that when I call GetDiscontinuedProducts, it returns a Products.DiscontinuedProduct object, but it doesn't have a Category property.   What is the recommended way of getting the mouse cursor position during a drag-and-drop operation Using Mouse.GetPosition() or DragEventArgs.GetPosition() always returns some incorrect value. I just noticed that Dan Crevier circumvented this issue by Pinvoking into userland ( http://blogs.msdn.com/llobo/archive/2006/09/06/Scrolling-Scrollviewer-on-Mouse-Drag-at-the-boundaries.aspx ) but I would prefer to avoid that.   Say you are a third-party control developer and your user interface control product has several strings that need to be displayed, perhaps on built-in context menus for the control. What is the best way to expose these strings to the control purchaser so that: 1) The default English version of the strings are able to be changed by the developer. 2) The strings can all be easily localized for other languages like French, German, etc. Would the best way to accomplish this be to have a class like a UIStrings class with a property for each string.   Hi, I have to collect info from users and save them in Appointment folder (Pocket Calendar). The problem is with the AM/PM value, which is saved with unpredictable result. I collect date info using DateTimePicker and the time using ComboBox dropdown. I suspect there is something wrong with my code, i can't say how to save this AM/PM stuff using DateTime properties. • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Waiting for computer connection...

  I know this should be a simple step, but I’m having trouble. I cannot connect to my Xbox. I think I followed the steps in XNA to connect but I must be doing something wrong. I’ve created a key on the Xbox, installed it in XNA Express, clicked ok (even rebooted both) but my Xbox is stuck on Connect to Computer. It connects to Live just fine. I’ve also disabled my PC firewall just incase that is the issue (I have a home firewall). I’m on the same subnet. OS is Media Center. Any recommendations would be appreciated. • Silverlight (formerly WPF/E) Javascript Intellisense

  Hey gang. I am new to the WPF/E area but I have been looking at WPF CTP's for awhile so I understand the concept. Abandoning the C# code-behind and using Javascript is fine but I am finding this is a step backwards in developer environment. I am constantly going back and forth to documentation. I really do miss the intellisense environment. Is there any way to get intellisense for javascript and the include files Also for components such as the viewer for WPF/E I would guess this answer is no as I am sure there is huge challenges for such things like that. • .NET Development Can't Update, Repair, or Uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

  Hello. I have recently found a security patch for my Microsoft .NET Framework, V 2.0. I needed the framework installed for my ATI Driver update to work. However, Every time I tried to install the patch, it failed. I tried repairing the framework, but that didn't work. Neither did uninstalling it. Uninstalling and Repairing yeilded the following message: "The following error occured during setup: Patch Package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."   Hi all, After installing the Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for WCF and WPF , I've noticed that you can conveniently add a service to your project. However, I couldn't find any way to generate the proxy client from inside VS. The only way I could do that was to use svcutil.exe in the command line. Am I missing something Thanks in advance.
