Visual Studio Team System SQL not found
I thought I did well following the install instructions but I must have missed something because when I install the application tier in dual-server I get warnings that the data tier can't be found. "Can't find SQL agent and about 4 other SQL errors. This would be just after entering the database server name. I've verified that all the new database are there and the setup account is a sysadmin. I've login to the database with the setup user from the foundation server and all seems fine. Smart Device Development Vpn logged but no folders
Hi guys i got a evc++ project using a vpn to read some files. The problem is when i connect the device (Kjam/qtek 9100) i see the rightconnection on vpn in the network people can see me but i dont see anything, when i make the call to open a folder and a file the problem is unresolved address... I think may be a problem in the pocket pc configuration 'cause using a file explorer (resco explorer) too i dont see the folders that i see through my pc. Someone knows some check to do or some critical configuration it seems the pockec pc uses internet connection to search the files and not the work connection with the vpn.... Hi, I am using visual studio.net 2005 to develop a project, now I want to make a deployment and setup package for my project. I have some problems on that. First of all, in my project properties, the section "publish" includes many options for publishing a project. Now in my project, I need to have some prerequisites, and some third party dll components. when I publish in my project, it works very well, however, when I bulid setup project to do that, I don't find any entry to insert these requirements; Secondly, when I build setup project, and add project into my setup project, I notice I can make shortcut in desktop and start menu, but I don't know how to make connection between the shortcut and application or helps file; ...Show All

.NET Development ADO.NET + OLEDB + dBase + Records Marked For Deletion Question
Hi there everyone, I'm using ADO.NET and OLEDB to connect to a dbase file that has records marked for deletion in it. When i opened a datareader using the standard connection string found at www.connectionstrings.com the datareader has the records marked for deletion. That would be fine if I knew how to step over them and not try and access them. I would rather that it didn't return the items that are marked for deletion. It was my understanding that OLEDB by default skipped records marked for deletion. So my question is, what am I doing wrong And how do I get OLEDB to either not return items marked for deletion or how do I get my data reader to skip them (continue in my while (dr.Read()) Thanks for your help! ...Show All

On the weekend (11-Nov-06) a .net framework update was automatically downloaded, installed and my computer was reset. Unfortunately this update failed As a result my Visual Studio 2005 completely stopped working. For anyone else you may encounter this, you simply have to re-install .NET 2.0 in add/remove programs, press the Change/Remove for .NET 2.0 Framework and select re-install. If the setup informs you about a current install, let it rollback the install. Software Development for Windows Vista Monitoring problems
Hey! Just installed Vista a couple of days ago, and it works really smoothly, except one problem. When I start a game, and try to tab out - the only thing that happens is that I get alot of thick green/white lines all over my monitor (A 19" Sony XDK95) the same happens when I don't touch the computer or any programs are running (It takes maybe 30 minutes) there's no way to get into Vista, I have to reboot every time. I'm going VGA->Dvi (Monitor->GFX) I've got the newest GFX drivers (Nvidia 7950 gt) My other specs are (If that should matter somehow) is E6400 2,13ghz Core2duo, 1gb of DDR (5400 Corsair memories) and Msi Power up Edition. Commerce Server getting more info from purchase orders
I have used the example and retrieved the purchases and they contain things like OrderGroupId, SoldToId, SoldToAddressId, total, etc. I would like to get the actual address of who it was sold to, the contents of each line item, and the credit card information (type, number etc). It seems that with the ordergroupid, and the addressid I should be able to grab other types of information, and I can see it in the DB, but how do I grab the data through the API thanks! I’m storing file attachments (.txt, .pdf, .doc, etc.) in a table with a varbinary(max) column. Software Development for Windows Vista Adding assemblies to Global Assembly Cache
Hi, I have tried adding a signed assembly to the global assembly cache on Vista Beta2 using both gacutil.exe and drad n drop in windows. However, I always get the message 'Access denied' and that you need Adm,inistraive privlages, even though I have administraive privalges and even get the same error when logged in as an administrator!! Is there something I'm missing Right click on command-prompt from the start menu, and select "Run as Administrator". Then install using gacutil.exe.
