  • Microsoft ISV Community Center Forums Word: Normal.dot template menu bar

    I have programmatically modified the Normal.dot menubar (adding more dummy options), and I want to get rid of all of them, permanently, to return to the original state and appearance of Normal. dot.... How can I achieve that, please thanks Hi I am using MS Office 2003 Professional and the version of word is 11.00 I don't know if this is important, prior to installing MS Office 2003 there was, on the computer, a trial version of MS Office 2003 Standard Edition. I used Add/Remove to uninstall this programme. Thanks Tony ...Show All

  • Visual Basic VisualBasic... missing reference

    Hi, I recently converted my program to run under .NET Framework V2. However, a small number of users are having problems getting it to run. They are getting an error which says "Microsoft.VisualBasic .....system.io.filenotfoundexception". All of the users having problems have recently installed (ie within the last 2-3 weeks) V2 of the NET Framework. The vast majority who have experienced no problems have had V2 installed for some time now. Can anyone shed some light on this please. Thanks in advance for your help. • Visual C++ Any documentation on OleDbConnection in VC++.NET 2005

    Hi everyone, I am just starting to use VC++ for the first time. I am a well seasoned VB.net developer, and I have grown fond of the OleDb classes used for reading and witing to MS Access Databases. In discovering VC++, I am having difficulties finding some documentation for OleDb classes under the .NET 2.0 Framework for Visual C++ (I have found plenty for .NET 1.1 which I can't manage to get working in VS 2005, and .NET 2.0 documentation doesn't have VC++ source. Since I am a virgin to VC++ syntax, I am having a heck of a time making something work) Ex: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.oledb.oledbconnection.aspx If anyone could provide some reference material or even source, I'd really appreciate it! ...Show All

  • Visual C++ DLLs unloaded

    Hi, guys: I have a COM component. It uses several third party DLLs. Recently, I noticed that after the DLL holds the COM component is unloaded from the memory, the third party DLLs can stay in the memory, and when recreating the instance of the COM component, the third party DLLs will not be reloaded. Sometimes, this will cause GPF. My question is why the third party DLLs can stay in the memory, and how can I unload them Thanks, Zhen It looks like the third party DLLs are not COM components. They are implicitly linked to my COM component. I am pretty sure the COM component is the only one references them. My codes do not call LoadLibrar() as they are linked implicitly. Yes, the setting S ...Show All

  • SQL Server Dynamic RDLC generation layout problems. Overlapping.

    I am dynamically creating an rdlc file at runtime. I use multiple Matrixes (Matrices ) throughout the report. The problem is, upon viewing, the report isnt rendered the same way as if it was created as design time. The matrices overlap, where as if I create a similar scenerio at design time, they are moved to accomodate the size of the previous element. I have tried many different things as far as the Top and Left attributes go, as well as setting the ZIndex on all of the items to be 1 or 0. Nothing seems to work, they all just overlap. If anyone has any input on this, it would be greatly appreciated. nomer What sort of differences are there I find that overlapping occurs when you place a part of o ...Show All

  • Software Development for Windows Vista Notification from a Custom Activity

    I plan to develop a custom activity which basically executes a long running task. During its execution, I also need to display the progress of its execution on the Client (say on a progress bar). How do I go abt this. Define a progress event on the activity and register a handler in the workflow. In the handler, call out to your host (using a local service most likely) and provide the progress information. Matt ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Certification?

    Hi group, Just discovered this forum.... Been programming MS for only 5 years so I couldn't have known this I'm planning a new personal certification track. Since I want to move to the functional part in due time I'm thinking of the following: MCAD.Net + MSF I want to take the MSF exam instead of ITIL and/or ASL. Is this a good idea or should I also certify for ASL and ITIL TIA Hi TIA Depends on what you want. MSF is more about project management, ITIL is more obout operations (like Microsoft Operations Framework). If you are in infrastructure or providing services such as infrastructure, helpdesk etc. ITIL is the way to go. If you are momre focussed on project delivery, go with MSF. BUT, the ...Show All

  • Audio and Video Development Please post your experiences burning discs for testing content

    As a community service, can you please reply to this thread with your successful combinations for burning DVD discs for testing Just trying to get a list of options for folks who are trying to get content onto the players. In particular: Which type of disc did you use (+R, -R, etc.) Which software did you use to burn it What options did you have turned on etc. Not so interested in hearing about failed attempts :-) Thanks! Hi Peter, I am not sure if this helpful but our team did a white paper in which we used Nero 7 to test burn +R and -R from 6 major brands. We burnt the same content onto 10 discs from each brand and then tested the playback of each disc. the full white paper can be found here: http ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Emitters and Distance Question

    Hi again everyone! Quick question regarding the implementation of the volume curve in XACT, and regarding emitters. 1) Is it wise to use one emitter and set it based on the current cue and shared by all the soud sources in the game or create an individual emitter for each sound source It seems to work alright with one emitter, a handful of critical sections and the like, but there isn't a lot of documentation in regards to its usage with multiple emitters. Advice willingly accepted on this one. 2) As for distance volume curves, I've played with a couple of things, but none of them seem to have any real effect on the volume based off distance. I started in the XACT Creation Tool, and played with the distance settings, making them smaller an ...Show All
