Internet Explorer Development IE 7 print preview when printing vertical text
Hello everyone, I like the new IE 7, especially the print preview, but ( as always there is a BUT) I'm trying to rotate a text to a vertical position with this code: style = "writing-mode: tb-rl; filter: flipv fliph; " The problem is when I Preview the text ... the number of pages generated is not stopping to grow(so I guess will generate more than 1,000 pages for 2 pages text... Maybe is a way around it that I don't know, any way the code is working fine in ie 6. If you know haw to fix this please let me know. Thank you, Cornel T. PS I tried to narrow down the problem and now the text is rotated to 90 degree but is not flipped in print preview, here is the code that is generating the problem: <html&g ...Show All
Software Development for Windows Vista Rules Editor
I must be missing something simple but I have been unable to use the "System.Workflow.Activities.Rules.RuleConditionReference" within my workflow (CAG specifically). Everytime I select this option and click the ellipse to add a New Condition , the popup closes. If I enter text manually in the ConditionName field and hit enter, it will create the worklow.rules file with RuleExpressionCondition line. Next I try to add the expression by clickin on the ellipse and I get an error "An item with the same key has already been added". I have hand coded a rules file using other examples in hopes of it being recognized but with no luck. Am I missing something Jesse I believe I have identified a bug and a workaround ...Show All
SharePoint Products and Technologies WebCM- How do you change the content type of auto-generated default.aspx pages?
I'm using MOSS 2007 for web content management, creating "Publishing Site with Workflow" subsites. When a subsite is created, default.aspx is auto-generated in the Pages library and set as a "Welcome Page" content type. Is there a way to change the content type of this generated page to a different type and save the change as a site template in a way similar to the collaboration site ...Show All
Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) HowTo write my own Standard Query Operator in vb.net?
Hi, I want to write a Standard Query Operator by myself in vb.net. For example takeTwo(...), which returns every second element. Are there code examples available Thanks. Gerhard Just to clarify, "standard query operator" does not imply the shorthand notation known as "query syntax". The Select() in Customers.Select(c => c.Name) is in fact a standard query operator. When you use query syntax, the select clause is translated to a call to the query operator Select() by the compiler, so you are using the same extension method in both cases. Query syntax is just syntactic sugar. To work around the fact that lambda expressions are not currently supported in VB, you ...Show All

Windows Live Developer Forums Recording the start and end location of a route.
I am trying to record the start and end location of a route. I see that the GetRoute method is supposed to return a VERoute object, and I know that i have to get this information from this object. The question I have is how to actually store the VERoute object that is returned. From the documentation I tried two options, but neither of them work: Option 1: var myRoute = map.GetRoute("Space Needle", "Microsoft", null, null, null; var start = myRoute.StartLocation.LatLong; var end = myRoute.EndLocation.LatLong; Option 2: ... map.GetRoute("Space Needle", "Microsoft", null, null, "onRouteReturned"); ... //later on in the code function onRouteReturned( myRoute ) { var start = myRoute.StartLoca ...Show All
Windows Live Developer Forums AddPushpin bug
Hi When I use the following code I get an error: map.LoadMap(new VELatLong(latitude, longitude, 10 ,'o' , false); var pin = new VEPushpin(pinID, map.GetCenter(), null, where, null); map.AddPushpin(pin); I get the error "f has no properties" when trying to add the pushpin. However, if I do the same but specify the map type as r (road map) it works fine. Is this a bug Thanks J map.LoadMap(new VELatLong(latitude, longitude, 10 ,'o' , false) ) ; var pin = new VEPushpin(pinID, map.GetCenter(), null, where, null); map.AddPushpin(pin); But I guess that wasn't the problem ...Show All
SQL Server VS 2005 standard prevents using free SQL Express functionality?
Hi, *relative newbie warning* I use Visual Studio Standard edition with the built-in version of SQL Server. Now I chose a new image catalogueing app, IDImager, that uses SQL Server Express to store photo info. The idea is that I can use the database also with my own code, or transfer the data to another app/database in the future if necessary. IDImager needs SQL Express with the 'connectivity components' installed using 'mixed mode'. This is their instruction page: http://www.idfoxx.com/support/idipro/install/ However, that option is not available in VS 2005 Standard and when I try to install these components with SQL Express I get the message that's not possible because VS 2005 restricts the install options. So far I gat ...Show All

SQL Server Problems with Autogrowth feature
I cannot via SSMS change the autogrowth setting for a database. It is currently set to restricted and I want it set to unrestricted. I make the change, click ok and no error appears but when I open it again the change is not there. I also tried creating a new database and noticed that the autogrowth setting of unrestricted is not copied from the model db to the new one. This happens only with the log file. I have SQL 2005 SP1. Any help is appreciated. Hi Heather, The maximum size for a log file in 2005 is 2TB. I'm betting that although filesize is displaying as "restricted", the MAXSIZE is indeed 2TB (2,097,152MB). So, within the confines of capacity limitations, it is unlimited so to s ...Show All

SQL Server Can terms lookup take into account the US/english spelling differences ?
Is it possible for the terms lookup function to manage the differences between US and english spelling For example if I search for the terms "color" and "categorization", I'd would like that the terms lookup also count the "colour" and "categorisation" occurences in the text. Thanks Vincent Take a look at the SOUNDEX() function. It does a similar thing by converting a string to a 4 char string/number. You will get lots more hits than expected normally. I have setup search functions which search for exactly matches and if none are found, use soundex() to find similar matches. ...Show All
Visual Studio Express Editions Embedded Images
I know this is probably a very bad way of doing things but I've been forced down a certain path. I have a lot (read: loads!) of embedded images, is there a way to dynamically refer to them For example, at tht moment I can chuck loads of these into a select case statement: objImage = My.Resources.screen_1 objImage = My.Resources.screen_2 ... Ideally though, I'd like to be able to construct the My.Resources bit myself, so the number at the end can be generated seperately. Is this possible You could store the resource bitmap references in an array at startup. Retrieving them later is now a simple array index. For example: Public Class Form1 Private Const SCREENS As Integer = 3 Private mScreens() As Bit ...Show All
Visual Studio Team System Continuos Integration using Team Build
I made CI work using Team Build after following the microsoft article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp url=/library/en-us/dnvs05/html/ConIntTmFndBld.asp The issue now is that it takes 12 minutes for the CI build to complete after a checkin is done. Now if somebody checks in any file during those 12 minutes, It doesn't queue the next build for that check in. Is there a work around for this Hi G S, Of course there's a way - it's only software ... If you spend time digging into the code you can check for these conditions and take care of it. The MSDN article is great for learning TFS extensibility but is somewhat limited as-is. So... if you want to learn about th ...Show All
