  • .NET Development Change tableadapter connection during the runtime of application

Hi Gurus, I have a problem with my databaseconnection. Following situation: I have created a form with a combox binded to a dataset (which was ceated via Dataset designer) The problem, i like to select during the start of my application the database connection (Network or local Database). Therfore I have created a properties file (txt) where i can get the needed connection string. Then I thought I can change on Form Load event the connection, if I change the connection String on Tableadapter (via TableAdapter.ConnectionString = ...). But it dosn't work, because the tableadapter (init connection) get always the connectionstring from the applicationproperties (The settings from my database which I used during developing -> Global.System.C ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Extending Team Portal to have calendar...

Hello, I'd like to try to extend a team portal to add a Calendar to the portal.  I thought there would be some type of Web part that did this i.e. mycalendar.  To my dismay I have not found that or any other web part that I could use.  My question is: Is there a calendar available for the Team Portals   If so, where can I find this calendar Thanks a million in advance. BJHop FYI we are using Conchango's Scrum for TFS process template. Okay, Here is how I fixed it On your application tier server with WSS, you can edit the following file: %Program Files%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\SCRUM\XML\ONET.XML The problem is that a number of <ListTempla ...Show All

  • Visual C# C# Using a Shell from a Windows Application

I am inquiring on how to shell out from a windows application to use the command prompt window as the type of display.  For example:  I want the user to be able to click a button and that button open the command prompt and run a particular script and display those results in the command prompt window.  Any ideas Thanks Try calling RunDLL32 directly: try { System.Diagnostics.Process proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); proc.StartInfo.FileName = "rundll32.exe"; proc.StartInfo.Arguments = "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL ncpa.cpl,,0"; proc.Start(); } catch { } That will bring up the Network Connection. • SQL Server no luck w/ execute sql task and assigning variable

Hello, I've asked this question before and I've read the answers before and I still cannot get it to work. My task is simple, I want to use the execute sql task container to grab a value from a database and put it in a variable. I've done all the preliminary stuff such as running profiler to make sure that the package is getting the call to the database, setting up the ResultSet to be "single row" in the general tab, mapped the Result Set correctly, but nothing works. I get the same error every time. This is my sql command: select output_location as output_location from script_master Result Set is set up like this: Result Name: output_location ; Variable Name: User::output_location Here is the error I get: ...Show All

I have TreeView with child nodes containing dockpanels. Each dockpanel has checkbox and textblock. The problem is that when i navigate through treeview nodes in some cases (e.g. when i expand node -> select child node -> select parent node) contenet of treeview item isn't rendered properly. Are there any ideas Here is screenshot: http://ibox.org.ua/ id=7455 Thanx in advance Currently I have rendering problems with treenodes, too. In any cases treenode texts are being cut off. • Smart Device Development Who has a PPC-6700 Sprint AudioVox Mobile 5 (Can I use GPS?)

I have the Sprint AudioVox PPC-6700 and I know that it has the built in GPS chipset but everywhere that I search I can not find out how to actually access the API. There are a few of the GPS API references throughout msdn & msdn2 but none have an actual walk through. It is very easy to access the phone API's and contact lists/appointments and whatnot but the GPS is not to be found. As far as the GPS is conserned one could argue that it isn't ment to be programmed or something but the fact is that in all documentation it says that e911 can use the gps and also applications that need your location (such as movie times or resteraunts in your location). I really need to find out how to manage this out even with just a simple quord ...Show All

  • Visual C++ How to wrap C++ DLL class(unmanaged, made on VC98/VC6) into a C++ class on .Net platform?

I want to know more details about how to wrap a C++ Library class (unmanaged) into a .net (managed) C++ class What compiler will be used to compile the managed C++ class DLL Visual Studio .net 2003 (VC7) is ok   My situation is: I have two 3rd-party C++ DLLs. I want to use some classes and functions from these 2 DLLs to build a .net C# program. First, I used VC++ to instantiate the C++ classes and used VC98 to compile the VC++ file and link the this file with the 2 3rd-party DLLs, and then make a new DLL (VC++). This DLL exports 2 functions. Then I used visual studio .net 2003 to generate a C# project (DLL), create a new class, and within this class I used [DllImport] to import the VC++ DLL I made, and declare the 2 functio ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Can I make a Resident Evil=type game with XNA?

Hi all, Longtime gamer and complete noob when it comes to actually designing a game. Basically, I work in entertainment and have long wanted the chance to tell a strong narrative story in a game. When I heard about XNA I thought this might be a great way for me to learn and experiment with just how one designs a game. Now, I'm not expecting RE4 but I'm basically wanting to know if I could make something along the lines of the first RE or even simpler the first MYST. I don't care if all the backgrounds are pictures, etc. But I DO want to try my hands at level design, voice-acting for dialogue and simple generic baddies to kill, oh and an inventory of weapons! Anyways, looking forward to downloading the beta version tomorrow! ...Show All

  • SQL Server rounding numerics

Hello, Executing this statement outputs 10.0000000000. I expect it to be 9.999999999. declare @test NUMERIC ( 24 , 10 ) declare @test2 NUMERIC ( 24 , 10 ) set @test2 = 0.0000000000 set @test = 9.999999999 select @test * ( 1 - @test2 ) Changing the type of @test2 to VARCHAR(12,10) corrects the problem. I don't understand why SQL Server does this rounding Thanx, Wouter At least part of the answer lies with the fact that the "1" in the statement: select @test * ( 1 - @test2 ) is an integer datatype and must be converted for all of the operations to take place. This can be avoided by perfo ...Show All

  • Visual C# DataTable + delete selected Rows

Hi I have a data table , which gets populated at the end of a certain transaction with say 30 Rows. Now depending upon the condition the user selects, i wanted to delete certain rows as given below. But the thing here happening is, first time the fifth row gets deleted, the row count is getting changed in the table to 29, which is playing the trick here as we can see that when next delete statement isencountered, there is no row with index 29 which is throwing an error and some times the row which i want to delete is not getting deleted, instead another row with altered index is getting deleted. How can we have a workaround for this situation My intention is just to delete the rows at the specified index from the original output ...Show All

  • Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Power of XBOX360 - raw triangle power

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to compare the graphics power of XBOX360 to any of current gfx cards. Say, if it`s capable of rendering same amount of triangles as e.g. GF6800 does. The old XBOX was usually compared to GF3 in terms of graphics performance. The reason I ask is, that I would like to know the general boundaries of the raw gfx power, since I`m planning on converting some of my current games to XNA (and later to XBOX360) as soon as it becomes available. Currently I`m pushing the GF6800 card to its limits, which means I`m rendering a range of 0.5M-1.0M triangles (all unique, non-instanced) per frame and it seems that GF6800 starts to slow down when it crosses 1M barrier. No pixel shaders there, just Vertex Shader ...Show All

  • SharePoint Products and Technologies Changing linked item in a new custom list!

Hi All, I am creating a number of new WSSv3 'Custom lists', when the customlist is created in the first instance there is a single column heading called 'Title'. Q: Once I have created the new Custom list, want to use a modified view to show the ID field, and then assign this to be the 'linked to item' field ( the rasons are left over functionality that I have to incorporate into the new solution. If you understand, some helkp would be greatly appreciated! PS. I am just getting to grips with VS2005 and MS SPD 2k7, so please be gentle!
